Displaying graphics

I used to be able to see the details of imported bmp files but now I get
only an outline. I must have changed a setting somewhere along the line but
I can't see what. I'm sure it's a very easy to resolve. Please advise?

Thanks.

In Word 2003 or earlier, go to the Tools > Options > View dialog; uncheck
"Picture placeholders" and check "Drawings".

In Word 2007, go to Office button > Word Options > Advanced > Show Document
Content; uncheck "Show picture placeholders" and check "Show drawings and text
boxes on screen".
