PowerToy for Transcription

To Whom it May Interest,

Thank you in advance for your time. Is there any possibility of
Microsoft taking on the task of a basic audio transcription PowerToy? I know
that such a tool was developed for OneNote 2003 as a proof of concept by
someone outside of MS using an earlier version of SAPI, but have been unable
to find anyone championing the functionality since then.

In contexts where people are speaking too fast for me to take down
everything they are saying, I certainly appreciate the "record" option in
OneNote. Transcribing from the audio manually has become a laborious and
time-consuming task, though. While I realize quality would probably be low,
I think having a very rough transcript would help me tremendously (I have
short-term memory issues).

Thank you for your time,

KiwiPotato

Have you considered investing in voice recognition software to do the
transcribing for you?:
