Hi,
I'm using Word 2003 and I want to merge in a HTML report. When I do the data gets truncaded.
I tried saving the word doc as XML or HTML, import the data from the file (not using insert do a cut and paste) and it still gets truncated. So I clicked Edit -> Select All, then Format menu and selected Auto Format. But it still doesn't fix the truncation.
Can anyone help me out, I'm pulling my hair out.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by the term "merged". At first, I thought "mail merge", but reading on, I'm not so sure... So this is Insert/File (or something similar)?
What kind of content does the HTML file contain? Just text? Also tables? Is the truncation data being lost at the end of the file, or somewhere else?
Are you able to open the HTML file directly in Word? Do you see the same problem?

Hi Cindy,
The content is tables and text, it looks like it gets lost at the end of the page in word. I have the same problem when I open the HTML file directly into Word 2003, but not 2007.

OK, I have a suspicion... If you click at the end of what you get in 2003, when you open the file directly, then press the Down-Arrow: Does the cursor disappear, or does it stay visible in the same place?
If you switch to Normal view, do you see more (all) of the file?

Cindy,
I tried the down-arrow, the cursor doesn't disappear it stays visible. Switching to Normal view doesn't give me more of the file.
I'm thinking the HTML is treating the whole file as one page, not sure how to get around that.

It seems very strange to me. I was thinking that the HTML file was being interpreted as a "floating table" that wasn't being allowed to break across the page, or as an object, which can't display over more than one page. But that's apparently not the case.
The only other thing I can imagine is that the HTML file contains some kind of character that Word's converter is interpreting as "end-of-file".
If you hope this HTML in a Browser, then copy and paste that into Word, do you get a better result?
