Hello Bernhard -- Yes, the Gender field is one of Outlook's built-in Contact fields, so it doesn't want you to name a new user-defined field the same. You could programmatically access the Gender field (since you can't edit the BCM Contact form to add the existing Gender field), or perhaps more easily, you could just create a new BCM user-defined field that serves your purpose but is named something else.
