Can't re-install Word 2000. Wrong product key AlanDavidson 4/23/2007 3:44:00 PM I use WinXP Home. Two years ago I bought Microsoft Works 8, in order to get the bundled Word 2000. Recently I was forced to re-install my operating system. When I insert the Word 2000 CD, I am asked for a 25-digit product key. The key that I have written on the CD is a 20-digit number that looks like nnnnn-OEM-nnnnnnn-nnnnn This is a similar key to the Works 8 CD (although I wasn't asked for that key on re-installation). Later, I bought Works 8 simply to get Word 2000. I'm sure I would have registered on installation. Does that mean that MS will have the record of my Product Code?
