Focus lock when creating a new Business Contact
IT Mentor 2/9/2007 4:36:00 AM
Here's what happens.

I receive an email from someone who is not in any address book and they work
at a company that I have a record for in BCM Accounts.
I open the email to read, see a nice signature, and want to create new
Business Contact.
Leaving the email open for review, I open the related Account record and Add
a contact, selecting New to create a new Business Contact form, partially
filled, and want to look at the email for the rest of the information.
I can't look at the email, or ANY where else in Outlook.
Focus is immediatly returned to the new Business Contact form.
I have to save everything, then reopen the contact to be able to look at the
email.

Is this by design?
Can this behavior (not mine, the software) be changed?
Thanks for your input and help

Yes, this is a known limitation. The "Link to Business Contact Manger
record" dialog is modal. This means that other windows cannot be activated
until it is closed. Other BCM records can be opened from the dialog, but
the main Outlook window cannot be activated until the "Link to Record"
dialog is closed.

We are investigating ways to remove this limitation in future versions.

Thanks!
