As far as I know, the Access 97 runtime is not supported on Vista and if you have gotten it to work on other Vista machines I would count that as lucky. I don't think it was good to rename the Access executable. You would likely need to uninstall Office 2000 prior to installing the 97 runtime, but I also think that I remember seeing that Office 2000 isn't officially supported on Vista either.
