Slow computer
Boxer[ at ]emanon.net 3/1/2007 10:52:18 PM
My trial of OneNoe 2007 will run out soon. I've installed and
uninstalled several times. It seems the computer slows to a crawl and
my cursor gets large and black with OneNote installed. Uninstalling
seems to help.

However, I really would like to use this program. It's well designed
and pleasing to look at. I realize the locking up of other programs
when OneNote is running in the background may be coincidental.

I'm running XP Pro with a gig of memory and 50 gigs of empty hard
drive.

All this comes to a a head because I received WordPerfect's free
Lightning note program today. It may work fine, but it's ugly.

Any suggestions how I isolate the trouble?

Many thanks.

Buy a retail version instead of trying to use the trial beyond its intended
period?

Some of the slowdown you are seeing might be related to how OneNote indexes
your notes. Does it get better if you leave it alone overnight?

I rarely leave it on overnight. Since the original install and all the
recent ones are new, there should be little to nothing in OneNote.
Unless--does it index the entire hard drive?

If so, I don't think I need that. Not yet anyway. Where do I turn it
off until I get to know the program?

Thanks.
