Phantom tag in an index
Cheryl Landes 12/15/2008 8:08:01 AM
I am troubleshooting a 400-page manuscript composed in Word that has an
extensive embedded index. The index is currently in the editing phase. There
is a See also reference that displays in the compiled index, but when we
search for the tag to delete it, we cannot find it. How can we find tags that
compile in the index but do not show up in the manuscript?

All of the chapters were created in one file. This is not a master document.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I assume you've already updated the index to make sure it's the latest
version. Having done that, display Hidden text and search for ^19 XE
"Smith:John" \t" (substituting the actual index entry for "Smith:John").
