I had loaded business contact manager and had been using it, also sharing the db with co-workers. Last week when I opened Outlook a message poped up saying "The information store could not be opened" the title bar indicated Business Contact Manager. When I go to accounts, I can see all of the accounts, but when I try to open one, it says "BCM was unable to initialize this form". When I go to "start" then to "All Programs" then "to Microsoft Offfice" there is a folder for BCM, in there is "Enable BCM"... when I click that, it tells me that "BCM is already enable on this computer".
What would be my next step of action?

Hi, Which bcm version were you using? 2003 or 2007?
If it is BCM 2003, you may want to go to BCM help and follow the troubleshooting help topic for clearing form cache.
If it is BCM 2007, you could try go to menu bar "Business Contact Manager" -> "Customize forms" -> "Manage user defined fields", choose any form, and just click "Apply" on the Manage user defined fields dialog. If this still won't solve the issue, then try to go to Driver:\Document and settings\UserName\Local settings\Application Data\Microsoft, and delete the FORMS folder from there. This will remove the form cache for you. Thanks.

Thanks Raul, OK - still not working. I checked and there are no disabled items, I went in and turned off the Cache mode, and of course got a message saying the BCM would not work with it off, so i went back and turned it back on and when i restarted Outlook it gave me the same message "The information store could not be opened". So, I don't have the BCM tool Bar, but everything says it's there, I can see all my accounts, I just can't open them... Totally baffled.

Hi, The database is still there, so you can still retrieve it without losing data.
My guess is my reply is not clear enough. When referring to form cache, I meant cleaning the "Foms" folder in c:\document and settings\userName\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft. There is also a help topic for this in Bcm help.
If you happened to turn off cache mode, turn it back on. Then when opening outlook, you can go to "File" -> "Data File Management" -> Add, Choose "business Contact Manager Database", and click OK. Then you should see the Wizard to create or select a database. From there you can choose to select an existing database, it should show the database you used to use, just select it and proceed to complete the wizard. Hope this helps, thanks.
