broadcast from my desktop PC to the Internet
I'm looking for a way to broadcast live video from my desktop PC to the
Internet. The audience should be up to a few hundreds.
What are the alternatives regarding the application/ services-
1. Is there a full desktop applications that does all the job?
2. What are the available leased servers or services across the Internet?
3. Is there any website to promote my broadcast?

Cannot play web video in IE7
When using IE7 to play videos from web sites, I usually get sound only and
always a still frame of random coloured pixellation.
I don't seem to have the problem when using Firefox!
The problem would seem to be with IE7 but I don't know how to fix it.
I'm using Windows XP Home SP2 with Norton Protection Centre 2007.
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated....

Faster way to edit movie?
Hi,
I'm just a beginner when it comes to converting or editing video files...
That's why I always have a bad time dealing with movies transfered from CDs
(2 separated DAT files when copied to HD). Converting to AVI format alone
really makes me 'cwal', can't wait any longer 'cause 600MB of DAT file takes
1 hour of AVI conversion... After spending almost 2 hours of AVI conversion,
I'm n...

VOB Files & Hadwaer Acceleration
Folks:
For much of this month I have been using the latest version of RealPlayer to
play VOB files on DVD.
At first the video would be unstable (flickering) but the sound was clear &
sharp. So I played around with the Hardware Acceleration settings until
both video & audio were sharp & clear.
Recently all this high quality has stopped. BOTH video & sound are now SLOW.
Tweaking the H...

MPEG playback jumpy
I am having trouble playing mpeg and mpg clips smoothly. The files are
stored locally, on the root of C, but the playback is jumpy as if buffering
issue. I loaded Cyber Link player just to verify it was not a result of
Media Player 11, but the same results surfaced. I then uninstalled the video
driver and reinstalled with the same result.
My hardware should be up to snuff... 1.7 ghz pr...

FireWire PCI Card disappeared in XP
Hi,
I have a Dell 8250 with a Pinnacle Supplied FireWire (1394) PCI Card. This
was a card that has been working on my Win98 and then moved to my WinXP. The
last I used this for capturing video was Mar-2007.
This weekend I hooked up my camcorder and was shocked to find that the PC
did not recognize the camcorder. After further analysis, i found that the
card is not listed in the device ma...

capture PAL how?
I have a PAL miniDV tape and a NTSC sony trv900 camcorder.
The tape plays and displays fine on the build-in LCD screen.
And according to what I found on the web, it also outputs PAL video via
firewire.
However, when I try to capture the video via firewire, I got a video that
looks like it was cut into many little rectangles and scrambled (about 45 x
27 rectangles).
I tried capturing ...

Security issues when viewing vids from a remote system
I run a central server on my home network. If I store videos on it, and
try and run them directly from my video share, I'll wind up with the
local system acting like it doesn't have the proper video codec
installed. If I copy the file local, then it plays fine - just run it
from the remote share, and no video (audio is fine regardless).
This seems to be some sort of rights issue where W...
