2K to XP upgrade issue - Windows Updates
We're upgrading several PCs from 2K to XP-SP2 - however after the upgrade
finishes, windows updates will not install - they are downloaded and waiting,
but each and every one fails installation. I've tried clearing out the
stopping the automatic update service and clearing out the
\winnt\SoftwareDistribution folder, and restarting the autoupdate service -
this worked to get the updates...

Custom Unattended xp setup with additional drivers
Hello,
I've got a slipstreamed xp CD and a machine that i want to install it
on. I know that the box's video, sound, and possibly network interface, are
not in the xp install. I'd like to do an unattended install and include
these drivers in the setup. I've read about the $OEM$ section but am
uncertain how to set it up for multiple drivers, and the OemDriverPATH

Thanks in advance for your help!

IE7 strange problem
We randomly have IE7 fail to connect to the internet on some of our XP sp2
machines. The fix I have found is to log in as ADMIN, open the internet
(which works fine) and then log back in as the user (the internet then works).
Why is this..what can possibly be happening?
I have looked at the IE settings and registry of a user logged in and all
appears fine...
Any ideas would be great...

Current "best practise" re: partitioning for XP Pro and Vista
I have many XP Pro workstations with single hard drive partitioned as C: and
H:. C: gets all OS components, the bloated $NTUnInstall collection, etc. H:
gets most of the installed apps (Office Suite, Adobe, alt browsers, etc). C:
drive at 8 Gb was a good call 3 years ago; lots of trouble today.
With Vista workstations coming I can carry forward the C: and H: with extra
running of repart...

Re Installing XP Home
My system is running very slowly, and I have decided to reinstall XP Home. I
have the disc, but when I run setup it kicks out and tells me that the disc
cannot reinstall XP because it is a different version.
I assume this is because I updated the original XP to SP4, and now the
re-installation CD doesn't recognize the newer XP. How do I get around this
problem?
Thanks...

Can an MVP confirm that I must use a floppy drive?
