Question about, "Windows has finished installing new devices."
I have a question about the following message
Windows has finished installing new devices. The sofware that supports your
device requires that you restart your computer. You must restart before the
new settings will take affect.
Is there somewhere I can go and see what windows thinks it needed to
install? A log or something? I've looked in the event viewer and can find
nothing. ...

De-activation problem
Please can anyone explain what happened here.
I have a PC running Windows XP Home (full retail licence) which is now about
4 years old.
I decided I wanted a higher performance PC so I built a new one.
With the exception of a dial-up modem card all the component parts were
brand new.
I also bought a new Windows XP Home OEM licence.
When I came to test the new machine I set it up with a...

Reinstalling Generic OEM XP Home on new motherboard, activation ok
I'm looking to upgrade my machine from an old Pentium 4 chipset to a
relatively modern AMD AM2 board. I'm also upgrading to a PCIe video card.
Aside from what was mentioned, everything else remains the same.
I have a generic OEM (xxxxx-OEM-xxxxxxx-xxxxx) XP Home CD that was purchased
from Newegg in summer of 2005. I've verified this is not one of those "SLP
BIOS-Locked" versions of XP. ...

Clone to Virtual PC problem
Hi,
I've used Ghost to make an image of an XP machine. I've cloned this image to
a Virtual PC using MS Virtual PC 2007.
When the Virtual PC starts up, I get a blue screen, too fast to read what's
on it, before it reboots. It then gives me options to restart into safe
mode, etc, but they all have the same result, a blue screen and reboot.
I've booted the virtual pc from an xp cd and ru...
