It did all this for a while, but now will not do any of it. I've checked the settings and it should be warning me/hibernatin...

Windows fails to detect volumes on external USB hard drive
These are the facts: 1. Maxtor One-TouchUSB Drive is not detected in Start Menu and is not accessible in any way. 2. It had previously worked properly. 3. I was unable to use system restore because it had been turned off. This was not intended, and I am not sure if it is related. Microsoft changed my computer setup.
I was asked to reregister my copy of XP because Microsoft detected some new hardware. (Hardware had been there for years and working properly.) Norton GoBack failed, now WIN XP PRO will not boot
I had Norton Systemworks installed (will NEVER use NORTON again!) and it's AUTOPROTECT function failed. Norton said to use their "FIX" tool, which failed. Norton then said to remove Systemworks with their "REMOVAL" tool. However, there was a problem they did NOT address, which seemed to be that GoBack became corrupted. Then Norton said to disable GoBack. Since doing that, my WINDOWS XP...

Is there any way to delete, or at least delay, the automatic shutdown or closing of XP back to the multi-user sign-in screen.
