Failed Microsoft Automatic Updates
There seems to be a problem many are having with the most recent critical
security updates.
Automatic Update failed to install these updates on my PC over a dozen times.
After finally installing now I receive the error message that Microsoft.NET
Framework v1.1.4322 Update is preventing my PC from entering standby mode.
Anyone have a solution?
This has never happened to me before....

Computer Starting to Slowdown?!?
My computer is approximately 2 months old and now has just recently
started to slow down after 3-4 hrs of use after each bootup. I have
scanned for viruses, malware/spyware, uninstalled unecessary programs,
defragmentized the hard drive, run diskcheck and cleared cookies and
temporary files from Internet Explorer. After a few hrs the system
slows down substantially thus making it difficult to...

Registry cleaner reccomendations ?
I have recently seen a thread where using registry cleaners was not
encouraged. On that thread Shenan Stanley, MVP said it is pure "luck",
is it really that way?
Is there any product out there that can do it in the most efficient
manner without breaking something.
Any reccomendations are welcome about your experince with registry
cleaners of anykind (freeware/shareware etc)

Folders w/photos are painfully slow
A few months back I replaced my 1 gb CPU with a new Intel Core 2 CPU machine.
Everything is o much faster now with one exception. When I click on a photo
directory to get a detail listing of the 200 or so photos, it might take
10-15 seconds to show the detail list. On my old machine that would have
taken only a second or two. If I then change the view from Detail to
Thumbnail, it might t...

XP OEx Mail File Cleanup Scheduling
I am running WinXP Pro, IE7/OEx6. There is some kind of an automatic
cleanup for OEx6 that runs on some kind of schedule where every so often,
when I close OEx6, there is a dialoig box that opens and says the mail
folders need to be cleaned up and compacted, and do I want to do this? If I
say no, the damn thing keeps nagtging me every time I close OEx6 until I
finally do it.
Now, I ...

lsass.exe takes a lot of CPU
On unpredictable moments lsass.exe uses a lot of CPU on my Windows XP Pro SP2.
I have all updates installed and a virus scan did not reveal any viruses or
malware. The process can't be killed, because this shuts the computer down
(as the sasser worm does).
Inspecting the threads the program runs, it looks like it is always the same
action that makes lsass.exe skyrocket in cpu usage: a t...
