Display issue for F Lock key
I use Microsoft wireless comfort keyboard with the most recent driver (v.
6.1).
The only problem with this keyboard is "F Lock (F)" key,
The computer screen is supposed to display momentarily the status of F Lock.
It does not work. So I have no clue whether F Lock key is on or off.
This causes a little inconvenience when I need F keys.
I could not figure out how to fix this problem.

desk top Icons
all of a sudden my desktop icons are all encased in a blue box . sort of like
the blue box the icon addy is in when you place your cursor on the icon .
anyone know why this has happened and how to get it back to normal . Thanx

Wrong cd ?
Hi
the fps of windows xp home edition did ask me to put in de home edition xp
sp2 cd.
I have a new pc ( fujitsu siemens scaleo p ) with the cd windows XP home
edition sp2.
it has happened now 2 times , I put in the original cd , but the message
keep coming , You put in the wrong cd ! ?
I think it has to do something with all the updates I received , now windows
does not know its origin...

Help Plze Urgent - Bootable CD
Hello,
I have a Averatec 3250 laptop with window XP which doesn<t want to start.
When I start the laptop, it stop at the windows boot-up and ask me if I want

installing xp home
I was running Win ME, and I bought (not a copy, but valid OS) Win xp home,
full version and wanted to do a clean install so I used the me boot disk and
formatted the hdd, when I typed in setup I get this program will not run in
dos: so I set my cd rom as 1st boot device and put in my xp disk and
restarted and got an error not valid disk? How can I get this to install? I

Weird on-screen problem
No 4 grandson removed a hi-score file from a game (Marbles),
using Start -> Search then delete.
Screen then showed a number of vertical 3cm dark tracks,full depth,
that seem to be composed of a number of horizontal dark lines,
these over the top of the required screen display, that seems blurred.
Rebooting usually lets him use Word, receive/send emails and the screen is
OK,
but any game...

I get the error message:

chkdsk f/. what is that?
it pops up when i try and do a disk defragment.......how do i run
it.....cancel it......not run it-------get around it........all in order to

Problem with sounds and headset

Uninstalling?
Hi all!
I got this game i thought it was great, but hell no, it's not.
I'd like to uninstall it but i didnt see it in add/remove software. In the
program files, i coudnt see any uninstall.exe either. So the last resort
would be deleting its installation folder. What would u recommend my friend?

missing toolbar and status bar
This is probably very simple but I cant find how to fix this. My cat jumped
on my laptop keybord while I was connected to the internet and my toolbar and
status bar disappeared. When I'm not connected, everything else comes up

2.0 USB Use locks up Windows XP
I have a problem with my PC in that it locks up or freezes when a USB flash
drive (or other mass storage device) is installed. When the computer locks
up nothing works not even Ctrl/alt/del. The only thing to do is to re-boot
the computer. It works fine after a reboot as long as a storage device is

taskbar icons
I was putting my Favourites in the taskbar, but they all appear like the icon
for Internet Explorer (the E symbol). They used to appear like the icon on
the websites (like Pogo, etc.). Did I change something or how do I get the

Connected to Internet but no Explorer
Just got new Laptop. It is definitely connected to Internet via wireless
broadband connection. Downloads and updates received. Can see other
computers in home network. BUT Internet Explorer will not load up. It says
it is a HTTP, FTP, Firewall problem and mentions Ports. Have tried home
network wizard and have checked connection - definitely connected to
Internet. Any ideas anyone...

Search, then search in results
How can I run a search, and then run a subsequent search in the results of
the first search? (If I run a search on my network, say searching for files
with "client X" in the name, and then change the file name/keyword, and run a
second search for files with "design", then my results include all files with
design, not just those of client X!
Can this be done?
