Seeing what is on my memory stick
When I click on my USB memory stick, instead of showing me the contents, it
opens in a search dialogue box and then I have to click to get to my files.
I'm not sure what I've done to make this happen, and I can't figure out how
to make it automatically open showing my files and folders that are on the
memory stick.

how to un install Windows xp pro
I am receiving an icon that my copy of windows is not activated and after
speaking to Microsoft they have asked to un install win xp pro and reinstall
win xp home edition. I don't know how to go about performing this task. Help
In Need of direction and guidance...

opening email attachments in adobe reader 7.0
I just loaded adobe photoshop elements 5.0 on my computer and now when I try
to open email attachments it said I needed to associate a file with them. I
tried and now they open in the photoshop elements program, but I would rather
that they just open directly by adobe reader. I can't seem to do that.

Registry editing help please
I am getting an error,1606 could not access network location
%USERPROFILE%\My Documents\My Pictures\. When I try to install any

Desktop Icon arrangement
It's a long story, but for some reason I pulled out my laptop which I hadn't used in a while.
Unit = IBM ThinkPad A30 - OS = Win Pro SP2 build 2600
Since I am the only user of this laptop, there's only one user account (administrator).
It seems to me this problem did not exist before - could it possibly be the result of one of Microsoft's "essential'
updates?

buffer overrun detected!
When i boot up my PC, running windows XP, i get an error message.
Program: C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe
A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's
internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be
terminated.
If i click on ok or close this pop up window, the machine generally shuts

CD-ROM Message - Not Accessible & Incorrect function
Need help in understanding why I can't copy any files to my CD-ROM when using
a CD-R disk (new or partially filled disk). The message I get is: " E:\ is
not accessible. Incorrect function."

Whats the difference
I have 2 laptops and a desktop and would like to know what is the difference
between windows XP OEM and windows XP as I want to upgrade all 3 with the
same disk. I ask because someone mentioned that you can only use one of the
2 disks on 1 machine only but I don't know. Can someone explain to me the
difference.

Can't view video clips
I have Windows XP, Internet Explorer 7, and Windows Medial Player 10. Can

IP address changing
I am connected to a LAN to connect to the Internet and my IP address is
1.1.1.x
recently I have the following experience;
After being able to logon to the LAN, sometimes I cannot access the
Internet.
Tried checking my IP address, using ipconfig, I found that my IP address
changed to 169.x.x.x

Floopy required to back up ASR files using Microsoft Back up utili
Backing up to a Western Digital remote hard drive calls for a diskette to be
used to create a recovery disk. I don't have a floppy drive and there is no
option to create this on the CD drive, nor to a flash drive. The back up
although complete would be useless without a recovery disk. What is the
solution to this dilema.

PC stopped connecting to network
Hi
sbs 2003 + isa 2000. A user brings back a win xp pro laptop, connects it to
a network ports and tries to login but fails. This laptop was working fine

Free Back UP software
I am running Windows XP Home with all the latest up dates, Service Pac 2
etc. I use a desk top PC with about a 40 GB hard drive. My neighbor
recently made an external hard drive for me from a lap top hard drive and a
nice case that was designed for the purpose. The external hard drive is 40
Gb so is plenty for my computer. The external drive works fine and has no

Funny sounds
My computer has started emitting strange sounds, like doors slamming, horns

outlook express (admenment to previous ?)

REGISTRY ERRORS!??
Hi
I have just run the Windows Onecare program and it says I have 10 errors. I
have run it again and it still says I have 10 errors, it seems the registry
cleaner won't fix them!? I have only recently re-formatted my PC so I cannot
understand why there are errors.
Can anyone help me destroy those 10 registry errors??

my son has Vista Basic installed on a new PC, he has tried to visit his page
on MySpace, it seems that much of the content can't be viewed, is there
something that he needs to add to Vista basic in order to view these pages?

finding and unlocking folders
I'm a digital imaging student, with no computer skills. I down loaded adobe
creative suite2. All the icons are on my desk top, I'm supposed to start an
assignment but can't find a folder. I've tried searches but still coming up

copying CD files
I got a CD with 2500 items on it. when I tried to copy all of them at once to
my flash memory I got an error message stating that the CD could not be read.
I tried accessing a file and quickly doing the copy so that the CD would be
spinning when I executed the copy command, but no joy. How do I do a mass
file copy from a CD to either my flash memory or my hard drive?...

Boot up problems
Hi
For some reasons my pc has decided to stop halfway on bootup so I have to
select which user account to load. There's always been my account and a
administration account, but usually it loads my stuff completely without
stopping at the user accounts.
Anyone know what I can do to get around this
