DVD Regions
I bought a new computer a friend told me that I have
to be careful with playing non-Region 1 DVDs (I'm in
the United States). He said that the DVD can be
put into a mode where I won't be able to play Region 1
media.
I found the "DVD Region" under the DVD properties and
it indicates Changes Remaining: 4 and the Current Region
is set to 1.
Is there a way I can force it to Region 1 perma...

i want users do not skip chkdsk on startup
Hallo,
I have problem. I'm administrator and many users restart and shutdown the pc
not properly. Then they skipping chkdsk at startup and many services not
running.
I want to deny skipping chkdsk at startup to those users.

problem with msinfo32.exe
Whenever I type ''msinfo32.exe'' on run and hit enter ''help and support''
page opens instead of ''system information''....can anyone help me to solve

Word 2007 as attachments to emails
I had to "Save As Word97-2003" two documents, originally typed in Word 2007,
attached to an email sent via Outlook Express and resend them, as no-one was
able to read them. They appeared as grey screen. I have checked with PC and
Mac-user friends and none of them could read anything in Word 2007. What
else is going to go wrong with this programme! Oh dear, I think this is a

OPXPApp.exe error message
Just started to get a message on boot up that OPXPApp.exe could not run and
wants to send an error report to Microsoft. Once the computer is fully
loaded, it takes 3 or more minutes to sign on to the Internet even though I
have high speed cable. Anyone know what this is all about?...

Desktop problems....
I see that when I right click on the desktop, I have the Theme and Desktop
set to the same background - this seems strange as they are the same
thing -no?
Then, when I do the screensaver, I really don't want one - I want the
Theme/Desktop just to remain there when I leave the computer.
What am I doing wrong?

Backup Favorites

re-installing
Hi; ihad writen before , i bought a clone computewr that didnt bring a
recovery disk, so i went and bought a new windows xp pro w/ sp2 software
wicth is what i have in my computer, my question is it brought a medium size
chip or hardware as they call it do i have to install this hardware and is
there anything i have to do to install the sftware, like cleaning the drive

duplicate operating systems...
I have my harddrive formatted to two drives... on the c drive I have
installed windows xp but had a glich when I tried going to a cable internet
rather then the old phone line (it wouldn't release the IP address) so I
re-installed XP on that same drive, now I have duplicate OS on the same hard
drive and it has killed my entire space. How do I remove the obsolete system?

downloading input mask - i do not have a disk for access
I want to run an input mask and the download starts up and ask for a disk to
continue, i never have a disk for my mircosoft office. this is for the access
program.
is there a way to download from windows web site? or a different function i
can do to get the field to set up for input mask?

XP professional in "SAFE" mode
When I am in "SAFE" mode. My menu does not display a "SEARCH" option. I
apparently need this to delete files created when I tried to delete an older
version of Norton SystemWorks (Standard Edition). Norton just gave me the
old run-around....

a while ago like a year ago i went to upadate XP and then it made it so my

Problem after copying a user profile
I'm using WindowsXP Professional with all the updates installed on a
Panasonic Laptop. I copied my user profile from the user account I usually
use to a second account using the procedure offered from the Microsoft
Knowledge Base. The copy went without a hitch. I shut down the computer and

Strange boot screen
When I reboot my XP Home Edit Serv P2, (2 weeks old). I get a black and
white screen during the boot up that says:
Please select an operating system.........*
1. MSFT XP
2. MSFT XP(recover)
While trying to write down all the information, it continued to boot to a
normal startup.
Since I haven't ever seen this msg before, was wondering how to rid it from

No disc formatting option in my new Windows XP?
Hi all,
I'm after some advice please.
My laptop hard disc died, so I got it fixed at a computer shop, who called
Acer and got Windows XP reloaded onto the computer (I have a rego no. stuck
under the laptop).
Now I don't seem to be able to format any discs (such as CDs or DVDs), or
even play a DVD movie on the laptop.
The laptop used to burn, format and play CDs & DVDs.

Bad Images
Hi
I dowmloaded Norton updates, google tool bar then they have gone from
everywhere on the PC.
Since then, i have 3 bad images, C:windows\system32\MSVCR70.dll,
C:windows\system32\MSI.dll, C:windows\system32\PNCRT.dll all say is not a
valid image. I have tried since to use restore but it wont work, neither will
add remove propgrams open up. Cam anyone help.

Is it possible to change the items in the send to list around I have a CD
