Importing dvd error
I have Vista Home Premium and Windows Movie Maker Version 6.
When I try to import a dvd it says:
E:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_02_1.VOB could not be imported. Unspecified error
PLEASE HELP....

MM Transistions
Just got Movie Maker Version6 on Vista but was disapointed with the standard
selection of transitions and effects.
Does anyone know how or where to obtain additional transitions and effects?

help! scratchy audio
can anyone help? i connect my camera to my pc using a pcmcia card that
provides firewire ports. but when i capture clips, the audio is
scratchy--almost static-like--and sometimes there are little squares that

Movie Maker Hangs ( Not Responding)
I have Sony DCR TRV720 and I connect the camcorder to my laptop using
firewire 4pin to 6 pin. i can see it as device when connected to the computer
and the test the device connection also works. When i start capturing from
device using movie maker 2.1 it goes properly upto the step where you need to
select whether you want to capture entire tape automatically the entire tape

converter
I have trouble finding a good converter program to convert my mpeg files, so
I use use the clips in the movie maker.
I tried all the ones in this website:
http://www.myvideoproblems.com/WebPages/UsefulProgrammes.htm
Some programs don't work, or have to close in the middle of converting.
Help plz.

Analog Video / Audio
I am using the Pinnacle moviebox/Studio 10 software to capture video/audio
from my analog camcorder to my laptop through a usb port. When I use Studio
10 the video capture is very unstable and the color isn't right. When I
tried using Movie Maker the video was perfect, but the audio didn't come
through. Instead it picked up my computer's microphone. Any idea what
setting is wrong?...

timeline fault
When I drag (good working video/sound ) clips to the timeline, suddenly in
playback these clips start to stotter/hackle/are not displayed fluently.
The clips are worked at through virtualdub from an avi-file. But after
import they seem to be fine and working. Only after putting them into the
timeline they go bad...
Can anyone tell me why and moreso how can I resolve this??

What resolution (dpi) should still pictures be that are used in WM
Pictures will be scanned from 35 mm slides. I have scanned some set at 300
dpi and some at 600 dpi. Those scanned at 600 dpi appearto be acceptable when
viewed on the monitor but how would they appear on the video?

windows movie maker
dear all
I've only recently started using windows movie maker and am at my first
'project' to reate a film. I've managed finally the digital files from my
Sony camera onto my computer and have imported them into windows movie maker.
But once I start creating the storyboard, the program crashes. It is not a

I bought SMB 10 b/c I thought it would reduce the steps for analog
capture(dvd/vcr player to make a DVD and then conversion program for use in
MovieMaker). However, when I captured a small test piece of video in mpeg,
the video was jumping. I figured since it was captured in mpeg, I could then
just import it into MM. When I tried to import it into a collection, the
green bar quickly move...

video not playing the same anymore
I made a video importing a series of .gif images. When I first saved the
project, they moved in time with the song (it's a music video). But I went
back to make a change and now the images are still, they won't move at all.
Plus, when I try to drag a new image into the existing project, it says the
length of time is 24 hrs long!
Any ideas why:

Saving to a DVD
I made a video in Windows Movie maker and I am wanting to save it to a DVD.
When I export the video to save it in the proper format it only exports the
first 30 seconds of video. I play the video back on the DVD player and it
only plays 30 seconds. I take this to mean that it is not exporting all the
way. do you know what i am doing wrong to keep this from exporting fully?...

Problems getting started
I have video that is already on my computer that I am trying to cut small
pieces out of to save. (i.e. cut commertials out of TV shows).
I am able to import the file and paste portions of it in the timeline, but
randomly the program gives me an error message and freezes on me.
In reading the posts, it seemed that the sister Photo program may have been

importing photo story to WMM
Sometimes when importing the entire photo story does not come. I go back to
the My Videos file and play it - the entire thing is there, but not in the
WMM.
Second, sometimes it imports in several clips. Why is this? Can it be
controled.

Why won't it download 2.1?
I've been having problems with my movie maker freezing, closing suddenly, and
not responding. I've been reading up on it and it seems like I'm not alone. I
went in to see what version I have and it's 2.0.3312.0. When I go in and
download the latest version it goes through the process and then nothing. I

How to find what version do I have?
How can I find which version of Movie Maker do I have.When I click "About" I
just don't understand what is the version.
I have installed Movie Maker 2.Does it install it self on the top of Movie
Maker 1 or seperatily?

Take long time to save movie
I wonder why it takes long time to save the clip...
I have no problem with saving any movie before this but somehow its got
problem recently...
It shows that 1000000000 minutes time remaining to save the movie.Its still
like that after 5 minutes.
Why is that happened?...

Transitions and Effects
I have 2 machines each running XP. One is XP-Pro and one is XP-Media
Edition. It seems that the transitions and effects that are available on
the two machines are different. The media edition machine has several
effects that I like that are not available on the Pro machine. Is there a
way to copy these transitions and effects from one machine to the other??

Movie Maker No Longer Starts
My Movie Maker program refuses to work any more. I just get the error message
saying a problem was encountered and needs to close. I read the other thread
about uninstalling IE 7 and have done that, but the problem still persists.
Do you have any other suggestions?...

Problems converting to computer
I have tried numerous times to convert my MSMMV file to convert to my
computer. When I attempt to convert it to DV-AVI - it will generally convert
the whole file, but all of the audio and video is choppy through out the
movie. If I convert it in any of the other formats, it will create a wmv file
but each time I attempt to convert I get a different result - meaning it will
play fine thro...
