Temporary Folder
When I download a program from the internet it says it will go to the
Temporary Folder. I reach this folder by going to C drive\Program
Files\Temporary Folder.
This folder never contains the program. I do a search and it does not
uncover the program. I can not find this program. Any thoughts, other than
I'm crazy? James...

Display
Any idea is appreciated:
WAX Dell Lap Top. Is there any reason that the desktop display does not
fill up the entire screen at a 1024X768 resolution or any other resolution
after the computer boots up?
The display is perfect for a second or 2 and then it reduces and the left
and right portion of the screen is black for about an inch.
If I go to Control Panel/Display/Settings should the 2 ...

I just spent over 2 hr. downloading Adobe Acrobat Reader 8. The download did
complete. I can't find it. I looked in the temporary folder but it is always
empty. I searched all files and folder. Didn't find it. Does any one know
where it could be? My temoprary folder is always empty and that's where it

How much longer will Windows XP be available.
How much longer will you be able to buy Windows XP Home CD? I need to build

windows installer
Whenever I try to install a new program (i.e. itunes) it completely downloads
the file, but just before it would install, a window pops up saying that
another installation is in progress, and that it must be completed first. I
happen to know that installations dont last 6 weeks, which is how long ive

When I open System Restore there are Checkpoint listings and Software
Distribution Service 3.0 listings. I know what the checkpoints are but can

search unicode docs from Windows Explorer
Message: I am trying to use the XP Windows Explorer search function. I am
trying to search documents, including Microsoft Outlook email documents
(.msg) that I copied from Outlook to My Documents directory. Windows
Explorer "Search" can not find simple strings that are contained in the
documents.
I looked at the document format. It seems that these documents are using
Unicode format....

USB icons don't show up
I'm getting no USB icons in the systray when I plug something in. Everything
works OK, but then I have no way of stopping the item before I unplug. So I

Increasing Disk Buffer Cache Memory?
How do I increase my Buffer Cache Memory??? I heard there is a PCI card,
called a host controller, yet I don't have the specifics for it. They said it
serves as a buffer Cache for the system. Thus, I need more info ...I have a

Computer Randomly restarting!
hello.
for some reason when ever I surf on the Internet(well it is usually on the
Internet) my computer starts to restart randomly. I have a anti spyware and
anti virus but they did not detect anything harmful.

how to forward an already sent fax?
Hi folks,
How can I send a fax I already sent to someone else without retyping
erverything?
Here's what I do: I rightclick on the sent fax, ->print, and then I
choose the fax console,as printer, which opens the fax console but
everything is blank.
What am I doing wrong?

Every time I close down my PC, along the way I get the message:

sidewinder_doesn´t_work_on_XP
I have a sidewinder gamepad and the sidewinder precicion pro joystick, both
with gameport. I tried to install them on my windows XP but they don´t work.
I did something I read about clicking "add" in Game Controllers but when I
do that it appears an error.

Weird audio after updating itunes
Yesterday while listening to music just fine, I got a pop up from
Apple saying there is a new version of itunes and asked if I wanted

Protection Error 103
Recently I have been getting an error message when running certain programs
on Windows XP Home Edition. The error is "Protection Error: 103". When I ran
a program this error popped up and closed the program. I thought it was just

Data execution prevention
This particular PC XP SP2 has been giving me all kinds of issues. I can not
even get into Windows Explorer. I get a Data Execution Prevention message.
This also means Control Panel and quite a few other things don't work.
Windows Explorer does however work in Safe Mode. Any ideas on how to

Windows Installer cannot install any msi
I have uninstalled a software on my office computer last week and since then

Assigned new drive letter to DVD drive. Reverts to old letter on reboot.
My DVD RW drive loads by default as E:, the lowest available letter. I
want to use E: for something else, so I assigned it the letter Z:
using Administrative Tools. But on reboot it reverts to E:.
A virtual drive created by the InstantWrite software has the same
problem, i.e. I cannot permanently reassign the drive letter, but
another DVD drive which was earlier assigned to Y: is still Y:....

Disk Read Error...What the Heck??
Today when turning on my PC - I was greeted with a "Disk Read Error - press
ctrl - alt - del to restart." message. My PC has been running great - up
to today. I'm thankful I thought to make a NT Boot floppy a while back just
for stupid things like this happening.

problem reinstalling windows xp
i got a virus in my laptop that changed the administrator settings and
deleted all my files and to try and get rid of it i decided to try and
reinstall windows xp using the fujitsu siemens product recovery cd rom but
every time i try my laptop keeps turning off at random times during setup
does anyone have any ideas or is my laptop dead?...

When run Install/Setup.exe, it open with Notepad.exe
When I try to install NOD32 antivirus or TuneUp Utilities 2007
(Install.exe), it open with Notepad.
What cause this problem ? Please help me with this problem.

Note : Before I try to install NOD32 antivirus or TuneUp Utilities
2007 (Install.exe), I was uninstalling Norton Antivirus 2007. I don't
