Now the system comes up Start Windows Normally or Start from last Known
Settings that Worked. No matter what I click, it goes back to this screen.
What did I d...

Using VBScript to refresh group policy, restart, and log in.
I am writing a script that needs to apply the domain's group policy,
restart, and automatically log the administrator back in without
needing any user interaction. The problem is that I cannot get rid of
the legal message. This is the popup that appears after you press CTL-
ALT-DEL on a Win2k or WinXP machine which has a message set in the
group policy. In my case, the message is set in a dom...

defrag problem
I hope somebody has an idea on this one.
When I run the defragment analyse utility it tells me I need to defrag and
shows loads of red on the display just to make the point.
However, when I run the defrag it gets to the end and the drive is still
fragmented!!
I even ran recovery console and used chkdsk c: /r thinking I might have one
or two corrupt files but this has made no difference....

Is it OK to enable SafeDllSearchMode?
I read that the registry key SafeDllSearchMode was introduced in
Windows 2000 SP3. It improves security by searching in the system
directories for DLLs before searching in the current directory. But
it was disabled by default in all versions of Windows until Windows XP
SP2 because it could potentially break existing applications. Does
anyone know what applications will break if you enable ...

other laptop (which would itself have it's own syncs on different
folders).

that restore point got corrupted that fast.
