messenger service
Hi all,
I added the Messenger Service component to my XPe configuration and then I
enable it by setting the Start service key to Automatic (2), but the service
doesn't start anyway.
Using "net start messenger" command I get the error:
The Messenger service could not be started.
A service specific error occurred: 2280

EWF mode change
hi,
I like to change the EWF overlay type from RAM-Reg to RAM after FBA(in run
time). Is it possible to change the overlay type during the run time.

Creating a component with options
I would like to create a component similar to "Windows Application
Compatiblilty" or "El Torito CD Support" where there are a series of
check boxes to enable items.
Specifically, I want to create a "component dependency" component for a
particular set of hardware but want the option of disabling some of the
dependencies when used in a SLD file.
Is this possible?

Slow first navigation in IE7 when set as a shell
Hi everyone,
I have set IE7 to be the the shell of some user account. I set the
account to be default. So when I start XPE, the user is automatically
logged in and IE7 is started in kiosk mode, navigating to some page I
provided as the argument.
The first navigation (after the boot) takes a bit long (about 30-60
sec). I've tried navigating to a simple page on the local file system,

Battery Control & Synaptics Touch Pad Driver
Hallo everyone,
while designing an image for a Getac W130 notebook, I encountered two
problems:
1. On the login screen, the messages "Battery low" and "Battery
critical" are always displayed, disregarding the real battery state (I

HTML Rendering Engine and SVG
When I upgrade the HTML Rendering Engine from version 5.1.2600.2180.6,R2911
to version 5.1.2600.3333,R3333 the SVG viewer doesn't work any more. The
internet explorer just shows a blank screen when I open a SVG file.
Are there any updates or workarounds available? I've already tried the tips
in KB909738 and KB909889.

Image with 1394 Netcard
Hello to All,
Does anyone know if it is possible to create an XP embedded master image
with a Static IP address on a 1394 Netcard (firewire). I have tried even
modifying the Registry to no avail. A new instance of the 1394 Netcard is
created on every new clone. I am beginning to think, it is the nature of the
firewire card. Any help is appreciated.

FBWF with USB removable drive
I have FBWF enabled and running properly on my build. I plug a USB drive in
and everything continues to operate correctly. If I rebboot the system with
the USB drive still present, FBWF stops working after the reboot. If I
remove the USB drive and reboot, then FBWF starts working correctly again.
I expected the USB drive to be unprotected, but the ‘C:\’ drive to remain
protected...

Network problem
Hi,
I built an image of XPE SP2. I built the network driver for my CPU by
Component Designer and added it to the image in TD. The network chipset is
Intel 82562EM.
When XPE comes up, I see in "Network connections" a LAN Connection and the
hardware is recognised as "Intel PRO/100 VE Network Connection". I'm able to
set an Ip Address and i can see it also by "ipconfig".

I try to use the EWFAPI for disbale and enable the EWF filter. I installed
XPe SP2 and Visual stdio 2005. I got the ewfapi.h and ewfapi.lib from the XPe

XPe PXE RDP minimum config?
Hi.
Does anyone have/know the minimum component configuration in Target
Designer to boot from PXE (Ramdisk) and run RDP to logon onto a
domain?
I've putted:
- Windows based Terminal Professional Template
- NTFS file system
- NTFS format
- Explorer Shell Interface
- NT Loader
- Windows RAM Disk Driver
but the image size is too big (130MB)!!!! even with NTFS compression.

Run DUA update program from a read-only media
I tried to run the DUA update program (.dup file) from a CD and the update
failed. I also tried the update from a flash drive, all the commands are

wallpaper image characteristics
Can someone tell me if the image to be used as wallpaper must have some
specific characteristics (because I'm using a 256-color bmp, and it doesn't
work):
- bmp, gif, jpg, etc.
- 16-color, 256-color, etc.
Or can it be any image.
I have to mention that I already added the registry entries the experts
mention in the previous discussions to my image.
