Icon Color Depth
Greetings,
I have an interesting problem.
The icons on my desktop and start menu appear in 16 color mode, even
though I am in a true color environment. That is, the color depth is
at full, but all the icons display as if you were in a very low color
depth.
When previewing a desktop theme, the theme displays the icons in true
color in the preview window, but you apply them, and the ar...

2 different icon resolutions on taskbar?
I was playing with the Properties/Appearance/Advanced settings just trying
out some different Font/Window/Color options and settled on a scheme I liked.
However, I just noticed that my "Quick Launch" icons are rendered in a
higher resolution than my lower right "Taskbar" running processes.

Folder options
Using WindowsXP SP2. I am trying to get all folders to display as details. I
set the view the way I want, and then I go into Tools, Folder Options, View,
and click "Apply to all folders." That works fine until I shut down or
reboot. Then the view always returns to the icon view. How can I set the
details view so that folders come up all the time as details, even when I
reboot? Thanks. --...

curser
thanks to all who answered questions about customizing the mouse pointer.
What I really need to know is how to change the curser..that little flashing
mark at the end of a sentence, not the mouse pointer. Mine used to be
thin, and I made it fatter, but it was a long time ago, and I can't remember
how I did it. I want it back to thin, again. Thanks for any help....

Hide DesktopIcons=Jagged Background Image
Right-clicking on Desktop to hide Icons transforms a a crystal-clear
Background Image (eg. Bliss), to a "jagged" display. I have tried to find a
solution to this by searching this forum and also a by general search using
Google. This produced no related solution but perhaps my input was not clear
enough.
I leave my desktop absolutely clear of any icons, and instead have a Toolbar

Sound Event files - need to hear first
I wanted to assign a different sound to the event of receiving an email. As
the present one supplied by Windows hardly draws your attention to it.
I was delighted to see such a large choice of wav files in the sound event
menu. However, if i am to choose the best one, i would like to hear a fair
few of them. I've tried right-clicking at various stages and places within
the section, but ...

accessed at the top of the list. That is a reasonable order, but I really
