XP Pro - 2 Whatever holds the data for the Start -> Run picklist as well as several other files keep disappearing. The disappearance of the pick list is NOT from running from running Disk Cleanup, Defragging or any other housekeeping processes, because they disappear with no such processes having been done. No valid Restore Points.
I have had trouble with System Restore failing to restore a month ago. My PC runs OK currently. I am about to install a digital camera and to create Restore Point just prior to that installation. Is it advisable to turn off Sysrem Restore and back on, before creating the new Restore Point. Thanks for any help....

Why is DOS so slow in Windows XP?
Is it because DOS is emulated in XP, where in Windows 3.11 or prior its NATIVE. Even in Windows 98 DOS is native. Technically Xp may not be using DOS, but its using a command line that can run some old DOS apps, but not many. Can anyone tell me why is it so slow? Install ended prematurely because of an error
