System Restore or Registry Backup
Hello
If one makes a registry modification is it better to do a system restore
point or a registry backup or both? Thanks for your help....

Windows Explorer keeps corrupting.
At the end of a day I find that Explorer
shuts down slowly and gives an error message:

Can't Copy and paste

I seem to be able to copy but when I right click, paste.. nothing shows

User account limited
In my computer I have to user accounts one is limited and another is admin. I
am admin in my computer. My computer have C: D: D: & F drives. and I don't
want that the limited user access to one of harddrives like F. Because in F

Backup/Restore
I backed up my WinXP Media 2005 system to a USB-connected 250G hard drive
using Windows Backup/Restore and had the following problems:
1. On completion I got a message that system could not be restored because
the system doesn't have a floppy drive - see online help. (I have been

Daily Automatic backup from one harddrive to another
Before I was using one harddisk 40 GB, now I have bought another harddisk 80
Gb only for backup and is working as secondary. Now I need to backup all my
datas from previous harddisk to new harddisk, so if suppose previous one will

Windows will not start!!!
Here is what happened: I was using Rhapsody and the music began to loop in a
5 sec interval,and volume, mute, stop, pause, close, 3 finger salute, DID NOT
work. I ended up turning off the computer manually. Then when I tried to

Run History
When I click on Start > Run, it opens up a box to type into, there is a
drop down arrow which used to allow me to select from previous commands that

US XP on a UK machine
Hi, this should be really simple question. I've been looking for the most
cost effective way to obtain a retail license of XP pro for my workstation.

Hibernate & Standby?
I just upgraded to Win XP. On my Win 2K systems (laptop), the Power
Options applet had settings for Hibernate and Standby. These are
missing in the Win XP Power Options applet.
How can I get my laptop to hibernate when I shut the lid? (That is,
write the current state to disk and power off, so that when I open the
lid, it reloads and resumes right where it left off without having to

cannot paste value in edit/find dialog box
Can someone please, please, tell me why the mouse and menu bar functions
concerning pasting into Edit/Find dialog boxes in Microsoft Office apps does
not function in XP Professional? It worked fine in 2000! I am copying

Strange problem working with files
hi group,
using xp pro on an amd 3400 machine. when i try to create new folders,
rename or delete files, the changes i am making do not appear right away. i
have to close out of the folder i am working in and then reopen it. then all
of the changes are shown. why might that be?

Persistent error
I started getting a message every time that I start Win xp pro that reads:
