Hi,
I am attempting to re-install Windows XP (SP2) on my laptop, (HP Compaq nc
6400)I want to format the HD. I boot from my Windows CD and Windows does not
see my HD (I am assuming Windows cannot see the HD because it is a SATA
drive). I have copied the drivers to a USB key, but during "Windows Setup" I
am asked to put my "support disk into Drive A:". I do not have an A: drive.

OS not registered.....but it is....?
As a result of Explorer not running, I chose to reinstall XP on my Dell
laptop using the original media provided.
Now, I cannot do anything as I am told that the OS is not registered.
When I call Microsoft and submit my details, I'm told that I'm already
registered.
How do I resolve this?

Microsoft Desktop vs WXP Indexing
Can anyone tell me the difference between the indexing program that I can
activate with WXP (I have WXP Pro and SP2) and the recent version of
Microsoft Desktop. I haven't activated the indexing service that is already
on board XP since I had been using Googe Desktop. But I had to install the
latest version of Google Desktop and it has problems indexing my SeaMonkey
email. So, I am wondering ...

Outlook Express Sends Multiple emails
A friend of mine has recently had problems with the Outlook Express
built into Windows XP.
When he forwards a message 10 or 15 copies of the same message get
sent instead of just one. If he just creates and sends a new message
everything is fine.
He has scanned the entire hard disk with an up to date anti-virus
program (McAfee) and has no computer viruses.

Microsoft Desktop
Will Microsoft Desktop detect and index email files that are not generated
through/by Outloook? I use SeaMonkey for my email and am wondering if the new
Desktop software will index it. How is this desktop indexing software
different from the indexing capacity that can be activated in WXP through the
search facility? Is it just an upgrade? (I also have SP2).
Thanks in advance....

Backing up with Norton Ghost
I've just ordered a copy of the new Norton Ghost v 12.0
Generally speaking, does Ghost compress the size of the files it backs up?
Specifically:
1. If I back up only several folders of uncompressed data files, how would
the volume taken up on the backup drive compare with the original
uncompressed files?
2. If I do a full system backup, same question.
