Media Player will not play on certain webpages
I subscribe to a couple of sports leagues/clubs but as of 5 weeks ago I can
no longer view matches. The demo video on the appropriate web pages work and
Real Player and Flash work OK on other webpages. Another example: on the BBC
Sports page the Windows Media Player says its "ready" but I can only view
video content by opting for Real Player.

30 second delay before playing file in Windows Vista
I now have a 30 second delay between the time WMP11 (11.0.6000.6324) loads
after double clicking a WMV file and the time the file starts to play.
During this delay both CPU cores show high utilization (65%/40%)
After the video begins to play, core utilization drops to (15%/10%)
If I stop and start the video playback without unloading the player there is
no delay between start and stop...

Find Album Info
When I go to find album information, nothing happens on some songs. No
window pops up or anything. It is NOT greyed out. None of my music is
read-only. What's going on? Also, on some individual songs when I find
album information, WMP pops up and says "Is this your CD?". What CD?
There's no CD in and I only looked to update info on a single file. WMP11
does this on both Vista and ...

Latency tolerance between encoder and player or server
We need to stream a to a single viewer (WMP no server) through a VPN that
apparently introduces a 30ms delay. Is that too long for the player to
sustain a connection? How long is too long? Are there any encoder/player
adjustments that could be made to prevent any problems?

WMP11 for VISTA - missing plugin in IE
WMP11 plays fine in stand alone mode, but when embedded into a web page I get
a symbol indicating missing plugin (white square with red cross in a box on a
white background). Any ideas - or is it a case of repairing the vista

Full Screen Mode To Compact One
Hello,
I use WMP 11.0.5721.5145 on Windows XP Family. I often view live video
streams on Internet. Even after setting the WMP to 'Full Screen Mode', it
automatically turns to Compact Size after sometime. The stream keeps running.
Can anyone please tell me what could be wrong? I've also installed other TVU
and Sopcast on my PC. Does it have anything to do with this?

Copying .WMA files
I am having trouble trying to copy WMA files onto a CD. The files I am
trying to copy are 16 tracts. I have them in my "My music" folder even
though the tracts are a sermon. When I copy them and install them onto
another PC of mine they somehow get converted to .cda files. How do I keep
them as .wma files or convert them back to .wma files?

Incomplete .wmv not streamable.
Hi,
I record tv shows programmatically with my windows media encoder.
Sometimes, I shutdown my recording program and there is consequently
and incomplete .wmv file.
I CAN open the file on the desktop by using "open". However, it seems
that the file is not indexed, since I cannot drag the pointer (fast
forward) the show.

Blank space at bottom of now playing visualization window????
Up until there was not a blank space at the bottom of the visualization
window. It is just black, and if I right click on it opens a new IE window
to my home page. How do I make it go away? It is really annoying. Thanks -

Windows Media Player 11 in Vista
Since the last automatic updates for Vista my WMP 11 won't launch. Well, in
fact it seems to try to launch then instantly closes with no error messages.
It also doesn't appear in the programs list so I can't to an
uninstall/reinstall. Any ideas?

No audio in WM11
I have Windows Media Player 11 and I can hear no audio at all, it is just
with WM11, the same files playout with no problem with Cyberlink PowerDVD
Player, anyone had this problem? any way to solve it?

Rolling back from WMP 10
I'm trying to roll back from WMP 10 to 9 to address a problem I've
been having with audio, but I can't find WMP 10 in the Add or Remove
Programs dialog box.
Does anyone know what the KB number was for the Windows software

prevent wmp11 from renaming files and altering tags
under "automatic media information updates for files" no boxes are checked.
when i rip a cd that contains random tracks from different artists, wmp names
the tracks album-artist-track.mp3 where album is just a date and serial

WMA Lossless 9/9.1/9.2 revision history?
Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a
revision history of the WMA 9 Lossless codec. I'm curious as I've got
a file that was encoded using 9 and 9.2, and there are minor
differences ie. 882 kbps compared to 890 kbps and
23,371,235/23,386,139 bytes.

Windows Media stream
XP SP2, WMP 11
On my guest account there is a webpage that have a audio/video popup stream
clip that plays in WMP 11 popup. Suddently I can not hear anything from them
talking, I can only see the video being played. I tried everything in the
popup. I also tried to copy the url and open WMP 11, with the same result.

No end of file marker in .ASF file
I'm not sure if this is the correct place for this enquiry. If not,
pleae accept my apology and steer me in the right direction.
I have an ASF file which plays correctly in Windows Media Player and
also to the end using Winamp but I am unable to
search by time within the file. There is no indicator on the slide bar
so I can't even try to find a paticular place in the file by trial &
error....
