Changing motherboards
Hi,
I have an XP 64 installation running fine with an Intel D830
processor/motherboard. I plan to change the motherboard to one with an AMD
dual core processor. Will XP-64 make any needed adjustments or is a reinstall
of the OS required?

windows Xp windows media player 11
i have recently downloaded it and now it wont play dvd, i have been to all
the trouble shooting areas and did what it said to do and still wont work , i
have all the decorders /codecs and still nothing, it plays cd\rom\cd-rw\cd.
but not the dvds.
even my pwrdvd player wont play dvds i have configured eveything and still
nothing,
im so fustrated with this , its been 3 days trying ...

WMP & RP
Folks:
My Windows Media Player and Real Player are no longer showing up on my
computer screen when they are started.
When these programs are launched; they appeared in minimized mode. I can
hear the audio but the program refuses to be maximized.
I first noticed this phenomenon a few weeks ago.

MP3 playing in WMP
I will try this form as the windows media player forum seems to be inactive.
I am new to MP3 players and mine said I had to update WMP to at least
version
10--when I did the update it went to version 11. I can sync just fine any
album that is in my library and drag it into the MP3 player attached with

WMP monitored folders
Hi,
I'm wrking with monitored folders in WMP. I found wmpfolders.wmdb file
which contains the WMP monitored folder's list, in 2 places
1. C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\NETWORKSERVICE\LOCAL SETTINGS\APPLICATION
DATA\MICROSOFT\MEDIA PLAYER
2.C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data
\Microsoft\Media Player

player will pause or stop while playing music
The player will almost stop or pause for a few seconds before playing again.
I am looking to see if there is an application which caused this. I am
getting very tired of hearing the song stop or pause when playing normaly.
Has any one had this type of problem?...

WMP11 for Vista will not play content while downloading from websi
Just got a Vista loaded PC and windows media player 11 worked fine for a
couple of weeks. I do not know what happened, but the player no longer plays
a movie while downloading from a website. It must now download first and
then it will play (I get a pop-up file which says that something is corrupted
and then gives me an options to download the file from to my hardd rive... at

References in C# for Media Encoder 9 SDK
According to the documentation that comes with the Media Encoder 9 SDK, I
need to add references to SDK libraries to work in C#. I'm supposed to be
able to find these under the COM tab when adding references in Visual Studio,
but I don't see any of the SDK libraries there. Is there something I'm
missing that I need to install?

converting entire library to lower bitrate after ripping.
I have over 10 gigs of music ripped at 198 kbps and want to convert it to
96kbsp, or maybe even 64kbps. Can that be done in Windows Media Audio? All
the files at once?...

WMP displays two of every song upon importing my library?
I have my music located on a large hard drive. When I import into WMP 10 or
11 90% of the songs imported will display two representations of each song.
Even though I only have 1 mp3 file of the song?

What is error code 1072885353 mean?
Hi
When I try to play a video I downloaded, I get error code 1072885353:
Windows Media Player cannot play fiel. What does this mean and how do I fix
it? I am using WMP 10; would upgrading to 11 fix this?

WMP not finding media
WMP will not find any of my media... i open up the player and i click on the
songs group to view all my songs and it says "there are no songs in this
library yet - the player is searching for digital media files in the
background" however, it never finds any and i leave my machine on all the
time and i try to manage the monitored folders but any changes i make, it
does not search nor do...

WMP10 has vanished my Library!
I can only assume that Work IT have done an upgrade overnight, coz things
were fine yesterday.
But I open up WMP this morning and get the Vizualisation Pane instead of the
Library View that I normally have.
However, I now cannot get back to the Library view to see my files and
playlists.
The only icon I can find on screen or in the menu is "Switch to Full Mode"
icon in the top right...

Can play in WMP but can't encode
Hi,
I have some videos in DCL1 (Data Connection Conferencing Codec). I got an
installer for it and the videos play perfectly in WMP, but when I try to
convert them to a different format in WME, it doesn't recognize there is a
video stream, just audio. Any ideas? Thanks...

WMP Shuts Down On its own with in seconds of Opening it. Can any one out
there help me out. For no apperant reason after opening WMP it shuts down on

how to delete "album" row in library view
I want to sort songs by their own title, but never by album title.
how can I delete "album" row?
it was possible on former versions, but somehow "album" row is fixed now.
besides, that row cannot be dragged&moved to other places.
if somebody knows how or feel same, please tell me.

some streams work, some don't
Hi.
I had wmp 9 and it wouldn't stream at all in firefox or ie. I removed ie a
long time ago and do not wish to use it.
When wmp 9 didn't stream, I upgraded to 11. That didn't work either.
So I rolled back all the way to wmp 6.4.9 for windows media files and
windows media lite for streams.
Now some sites will stream, some won't.
Any ideas? ...

Help Stuck in mini player on my task bar in Windows Media 11
Someone please help..... i am stuck in windows media player on my task bar.
I'm not sure how it has happened, everything was fine previously. I have even
tried uninstalling the version and everything was fine in version 10,
reinstalled 11 and i'm back to the mini player again. There doesn't seem to
be any option to get myself back to full screen mode. I have chosen the

Help !! Skipping playlist tracks
I hav just purchased a dell 1.6ghz dual core amd processor , 1gb ram with
windows vista with the latest windows media player etc etc...the problem is
when i listen to a mp3 playlist from the hard drive on windows media player
as a track nears it's end the sound seems to start to judder or skip for a

(1024 x 768 screen capture). I ended up recording about 3 different parts.

Error Message on Restricted Files
Can anyone please please help me? I have received a resticted music file but
when I go to download the license it tells me that there has been an unknown
error 438. I haven't downloaded licenses before, have never played restricted
files and so having searched and searched I can find no answer as why did is

WMP11 Does NOT 'see' Wireless Media Player
I am runing XP SP2 and have a DLink DSM-520 Wireless Media Player. DLink
recommends using WMP11 as the Media Player however when I try to 'add' the
DSM-520 (WMP11 / Library / Media Sharing / Check 'Share my media) the
computer does not return with a list of devices to 'add'. Three other
