Converting wma 9.2 lossless to wav
I've just downloaded Microsoft's utility to convert wma lossless files back
to wav files (wmal2pcm.exe).
When I run it on a wma lossless file made by ripping a CD with WMP11 it says
that the file isn't a wma file! The file properties (from WMP) are:
Windows Media Audio 9.2 Lossless
VBR Quality 100, 44 kHz, 2 channel 16 bit 1-pass VBR
(bit rate of 601 Kbps)

Who owns a "Zune"?
Hi,
i am from germany and we dont have the "Zune" here but
is it true, that this zune doesnt play DRM protected
Media from other distributors but microsofts own Zune
Connection? Can i play my own created mp3 mixes
on the zune without any problem? I do make music
in my free time an record it to mp3. Can i play this
recorded music on a zune?

Missing Menu in WMP11

now playing list issues
Alright, so when I click the play button on a non-saved playlist, it scraps
my custom playlist and puts on all of my music on one playlist with the first
song of my custom playlist highlighted. I know I can just doubleclick or
right-click and hit play, or go to the "play" on the taskbar, or hit Ctrl+P,
but i would like to use the play button as well. Ths is just the easiest way.

WMP 11 crashes
Since upgrading to Vista I have a problem with my medial player crashing. I
am using the Napster plug in and it is usually when i am playing audio from
my library that the media player will just tell me it has stopped working and

Can't play video clips separately
Everytime a put in a DVD or CD with video clips in a folder WMP11 joins them
automatically in the playlist into one continuous video. Is these a way to

permission for directory
I'm trying to install a lyric searching tool i have been using for years...
now it will not work on vista. i think its because there is one file when i
install it. it cannot write a file to the windows media directory. i also

WM11 on Vista cannot play URGE files or radios because protocol
I have been receiving this message lately every time i try to play a song
from URGE (i have an all access account)
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the specified protocol is
not supported. If you typed a URL in the Open URL dialog box, try using a
different transport protocol (for example, "http:" or "rtsp:").". according

W2K - WM9 - ERROR C00D11CD PLAYING .MPG .MPEG VIDEO
My WM9 player gives error C00D11CD when trying to play .mpg and .mpeg
files. If I rename them to .mpe they play fine.

Can't play HD video clips
For some reason, I can't play HD video clips any more on my laptop. I have
Windows Vista, WMP 11, and have the capability to play HD clips.
Just a few weeks ago, I was able to run 1080i .wmv files, but now those

windows media player and center and SCSI DVD-RW
Why windows media applications doen't recognize SCSI-DVD-RW devices. In my
case I have a Gigabyte Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 (Rev. 3.3) that uses a JMicron
controller for IDE devices. However, every IDE device connected to that IDE
interface is recodnized as SCSI device. Therefore, my Pioneer 112D IDE DVD-RW

Audio files don't play
I downloaded WMP 11 and have difficulty playing some audio files. When I
click on Web Help, I get the C00D11B1 error message, but none of the
scenarios seem to fit.
I also have Goldwave and the files play OK using that so it would seem that
the problem is with WMP. GSpot identifies the problem as 0x0007 (MULAW) codec
missing, but this seems to be a wave format rather than a codec.

Library Malfunction
Several months ago, the songs added to the library mysteriously disappeared
one day. It also happened to a friend of mines awhile before I experienced

DVD and Security Certificates
I went through and deleted EXPIRED security certificates in Internet
Explorer and now I can't playback DVDs.
How do I repair this? Why do EXPIRED security certificates have anything
to do with DVD playback?
Restore doesn't work, since they don't keep track of these files.

Tracks missing from CD Burn list
I am trying to create a Data CD with WMP11. I add many tracks to my brun list
(about 100) yet when the CD burns its on imports around 50. Any idea why its
doing this ? The MP3's are saved onto a portable Hard Drive rather than on
the PC's hard drive....

Burning CD's
Hi I am having the same problem many have had: after upgrading Media
player 10, to 11, it would not detect my CD burner. I rolled back to version
10, and it will still not detect my burner. I have also noticed that i cannot
copy files to a CD now with Windows Explorer.
I do have Sonic's "Drag to Disc" software I believe it came bundled with my
Sony PC, but I am reluctant to uninstall...

Copying DVD movies on to computer
Can anyone help me on this? I've tried a store bought movie and a home
burned movie and I can't get either one of them to work on my computer. On
the home burned movie, I was told the files are saved as .bup (back up) and
the movie will not play without the dvd being in the dvd drive. I wanted to
put some movies onto my son's mp3.

WMP 11 Duplicate Ablums
Every time I import a new MP3 file and rename the "Album" to an
existing album name, WMP 11 fails to add the file to the existing
album folder. Instead it creates a duplicate Album file.
So now I've got 3 album folders called "Misc"
Any ideas?
I'm tempted to chuck WMP 11 in the bin.

WIM MEDIA 11 RUn in background after closing.
Let's see... After I've finished using the Windows Media Player 11(* and I
mean using it as to watch videos, DVD's or even play a music CD) and close
it, my system begins to run very slow. So, I checked programs running i
background and I found Windows Media still running even after shutting it
down. If I END PROGRAM every goes back to normal.
Is this inherit of WIN MEEDIA 11, and if so...

WMP11 Vista - No sound with music or videos
Hi everyone! I've been reading through the forums, and I'm very glad that
there is at least a little support in these forums.
Let me describe my problem: As of today, my updated copy of Windows Media
Player 11 for Vista can no longer play sound for any of my files - video OR
music (such as MP3, CD, etc.) I see the visualization, the video

DVD plays but won't repeat
I have a company DVD video that WMP 11 says is of 7:07 duration. The
professionally produced version has a menu at the top where the author
installed a menu screen where one clicks a "Play Video" button to start the
video. When I use this DVD at trade shows/expos on a laptop, it runs and then
returns to the top and waits for a subsequent click on the "Play Video". What

How to read Chinese chartacter Title
I uploaded a music cd that contains Chinese song titles. However, when I
tried to play in Window Media, the Chinese characters in the song title don't
show up correctly? I have window XP and Window Media 11. I think it has to do
with the setting I have. When I tried to play the same cd on a different

streaming with authentication to a mac client
I can't seem to get NTLM authentication to work on a mac. I've
downloaded Windows Media Components for Quicktime and even Windows Media
Player 9 for Mac. Nothing seems to get around this issue. Is there a
way to use a difference type of authentication (secure, not clear text)
or get a Mac client to authenticate correctly with NTLM? Thanks for any
advice you can provide.
