i'm trying to stream live content online using the "pull from the encoder"
option on windows media encoder.. i properly configured my router to
port-forward to the encoding computer and the setup works fine when i access
the stream on any computer in my LAN through the link
mms://192.168.1.100:8080. however, when i use the isp ip i got from

Windows Vista, WMP 11 Does not Play MPEG's
Hello to All,
I'm having issues playing .avi, .mpg, .mpeg or any video file from IE 7
through Windows Media Player. IE 7 downloads the video and the plays it
instead of just opening the WMP and then start playing while still
downloading the file. Please help I have been working on this issue for
about 2 months now....

Playlist Problems
When removiong songs from a playlist in the main view and then closing WMP or
switching views, it often doesnt remember that you eriased it and keeps it on
the playlist. This has been a problem for me since Beta.
Also there should be a wayh to drag songs from WMP to a program such as Nero
to burn or a way to add folders in a data cd for mp3 cd's.

Remember sort option
After switching from viewing the songs list on WMp11 and then going to albums
or something. When you go back it should keep whatever you sorted the songs
by ie. Date Added or Artist, and how they are sorted ie. Newest to oldest.
This is one of my beggest complaints

I was interested in using Canyon.mid in some YouTube videos. CANYON.MID is a
Windows 3.1-98 media file made by Microsoft. Is canyon.mid copyrighted, or

90% of album art suddenly disappeared from library
I have Vista x64 Ultimate. For some reason when I started WMP11 yesterday,
virtually 90% of my albums have lost their album art.
Any ideas why this might happen or how I might recover it? If I browse the
folders with Windows Explorer, the folder thumbnails still show the artwork,
so it is there.
Do I really have to use Find Album info for EVERY one? Is there a way to do
this without ...

WMP Upside Down image
I get an upside down image since I upgraded to WMP 11. I tried the patch but
still get it. It happens after I start playing something and then go away
from it. When I come back to it, it is upside down for a few seconds, then
corrects itself. Going back to WMP 10 didn't help.

Windows Vista, WMP11 Media Server Issue, D-Link DSM-320, GoVideo D
I am attempting to use the media server included in Windows Vista (formerly
Windows Media Connect?) with both my DSM-320 and D2730. It is working quite
well with the DSM-320. However, on the D2730, I can connect to the server,
but MP3's will not play. All I here are hiss and pops, even though I can
access my entire media collection. Again, the DSM-320 works great (better
than D-Links...

want to set aspect ratio!
Sometimes the videos I watch are in the widescreen format (16:9). So when
watching them with my 4:3 screen the picture gets streched vertically. Isn't
there any way you could set the aspect ratio on the Windows Media player??
I've searched for it in the menus and searched for plug-ins that would give
me that function, but cannot find a solution! Even the cheapest hardware
DVD-players out...

Select bitrate for multicast multibitrates windows media stream.
Hi,
I'm using the "WMBitrate" modifier at the end of the mms URL. Like this:
src="mms://x.x.x.x:8088?WMBitrate=65536"
But,
How can i use this "WMBitrate=65536" parameter with multicast stream
(http://server_ip/file.nsc) ??
I did try http://server_ip/file.nsc?WMBitrate=65536 but it dont working :(

WMP fast forward is grayed out
For some reason my fast forward button all of a sudden stoped working it only
resets to the begining when you try to slide it. So I went to play and see it
is grayed out. Tried another book it worked on before and it still does not
work. Shut off and restarted still no luck. Can anyone help?...

WMP 7.1 freezes when inserting audio CD
At this time, I'm on an older 98 (not SE) system. I've been using WMP 7.1
for quite a long time now with no problems. Suddenly, however, inserting an
audio CD freezes the player, requiring it to be closed in the task manager.

CD\DVD Player
I am having a problem with the CD\DVD player, it reads music CDs without a
problem, but, if I insert a data CD I get a message saying the player is
empty. If I try to check the CD content by going to My Computer and clicking
on the CD drive, I get a message saying D:\ is not accesible, incorrect
function.
Can any body out there tell me how can I fix this problem?

No Sound at all!
I have had WMP for a while and recently had problems burning cds. So, i
re-started the computer with my back up disks to restart everything. Now, i
cannot get the player to play sound. I checked the mute buttons and did all
the troubleshooting steps but to no avail. My program says everything is
working properly, but obviously wrong. Any suggestions??...

Ripping files from CD twice
I have WMP 11, and just discovered its use in ripping audio files from CDs.
I ripped a CD, however discovered that it was in unknown artist, unknown
album with unknown titles. I then enabled updating file names from the
internet and found album info. It was too late then, the files were already
ripped, so I deleted the folder and put the CD in again. The CD would not

Are Separate Libraries possible
I would like to create separate MP3 and WAV Lossless libraries. The reason
for this is that I quickly and easily download mp3's to a card or device and
also, just as quickly and easily burn a lossless CD without having to
convert any files. I experimented with this and wound up with duplicates of

Who can tell me if WMPlayer supports DSP plug-in under WM5.0?
I am trying to transplant a DSP plug-in from XP to WM5.0, which is the

WMP11 utilizes near 100% CPU when Xvid's in Library
I've been battling this problem for three days....
Everytime I have an xvid file in WMP library, the cpu usage spikes to near
100%. If I take them out, it runs near 0. It gets so bad it locked up the
computer while trying to play an MP3 file. I've tried various xvid files, all
