Installing MP 11
I have tried numerous times to install MP 11 on my system. I am using Windows
XP Home with SP2. Each time the install goes all the way to the end, but when
I try to run the program I get an error message (with no number) saying the
program is installed improperly and offering me a link to Microsoft to
download the program again. Any ideas?...

WMA9 or WMAPro?
So I am about to rip by CD collection to WMA format with WMP11. I am
debating between WMA9-VBR or WMAPro codecs. When set to 'best quality',
which would produce better results?
As I understand it, WMAPro supports 5.1 audio, but it encodes at CBR.. Will
I still get multi-channel audio when encoding standard CD source?

Force reinstall of movie maker - Win xp
Well something got corrupted this morning. I assume its one of the .dll's in
the video common code. All of a sudden, I can't open new videos (.mpg) in
movie maker, nor can I play or export a video with quicktime pro.
In the case of movie maker, simply clicking on "import video" causes an
immediate terminate of the program. No "pick file window", the main window

I can't play wmv or mpg files
Everytime I try to open a wmv file I'm prompted to open or save. I cannot
view the file unless it completely downloads. I used to be able to view
while it was downloading (Buffering). How can I get my media player to do
this again? Please help!!

MEDIA CENTER ON VISTA ERROR
Hi ,
The media center went crazy on me maybe 3 weeks ago i don't know why but
right now every time i open the media cenetr it shuts down with media center
sopped working windows will notify you when a sulotion is there to help
right now all i want to do is to reinstall the program itself not the whole

xbox 360 video playback
i have configured my 360 as an extender of my media center pc running vista.
in the xbox mce library, the thumbnails of the videos are all showing up in
the right files, yet every time I try to play one, it says that "the files
needed for playback are not installed, or no working properly." The
thumbnails themselves are clips from the videos which are avi's, so I have no
idea what Im doi...

Silver surfer WMP11 questions to prevent nervous breakdown

WMP 11, Vista & DRM issues
I performed a clean install of Vista. I am getting rights management issues
from songs that I downloaded off of MSN Music. How do I restore the
licenses? When the option stating 'I already own this song' appears it
immediately moves to another MSN Music screen with no option to log on.

How to uninstall/reinstall Media player v11 in Windows Vista
I had been able to view 700k video in Media Player, however something
happened recently (a Windows update I assume) and now 700k video is choppy.
Lesser feeds, like 400k works just fine. I thought that uninstalling, then
reinstalling Media Player would be something to try, but I haven't seen how
to do this in Vista. It is not in the "Programs and Features" list in

Microsoft upgrades - Media Player 11 and Explorer 7
Having read the comments in the 'community' site I feel vindicated.
Media Player 11 is all presentation and no substance - indeed its
functionality is a BACKWARD step. Thank goodness MS provides the means to
revert back - for that - I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Explorer 7 is in the same category.
I have reverted to Media Player 10 and Explorer 6.

Media Player Makes System Operate EXTREMELY SLOW
Can anyone help - whenever I start Media Player, my CPU utilization goes up
to 95%, my windows screens are displayed at an "incredibly slow" rate - my
system will stay that way until I either reboot or close Media Player and
wait about 5 mins for it to terminate. I have tried updating to the new ver
