Windows Media Player 11 Audio but no Visual
Hi,
I'm attempting to play a *.wmv file on Windows Media Player 11 however I can
only get sound with no video. I have tested this file on other XP machines
with no problem and they are all running WMP 11. I notice that there are no
bundle codec packages available for WMP 11 however this should not be an
issue as the PC does have a live web connection and is logged in as admin.

Text Only Library view in WMP 11
Okay, i like the new views in WMP 11, but i need an option to go back to 100%
text only views in the library.
how on earth do i do this? i see no view option that allows me to go back
to a "no album art/no stack" state.

downloading media befor viewing
When viewing media online I would click on the link or thumbnail, then, my
system woud automaticly show a pop up window --downloading to temporary
internet folder with a progress bar. After it was done downloading it would
automaticly open up wmp and play the content. I like this. Somehow my
settings must have gotten changed. Now what happens when i click on a link or
thumbnail, wmp open...

Taskbar Controls
Is there a program to control the Media Player from the taskbar?
I want to pause, increase/decrease volume and select next directly from the
taskbar instead of using that great big square bothersome thingy which is .
It seems I offered. I was able to do this in the past but that might have
been Winamp and not the Media Player.
Is this possible for the Media Player 10?

Cant burn cds
I purchased several songs from walmart over a week ago. I have had no luck
burning them to cds, although Walmart says I should be able to as I have the
license downloaded. I did have player 8, but upgraded to player 10. I
couldn't get 11 because my hp media center is from 2003. I have reinstalled
Player 10.

I got my new PC with Vista Basic and windows media player 11. the mp3 filed
that is used to be playing fine with my laptop (XP), plays "nearly" perfect
with my new PC, except that it jumps towards the end of the song, sort of
hitting a snag, on every single song that i play on it, always on the same

Lost My Stations
Can anyone tell me why all of a sudden when I turned on WMP 11, MY Stations
were almost all gone? There remains but 4 of the 15 or so I had added. When I
go back to all stations to re-add them, it indicates that they are already
added. However, they are not being listed. Clues? Thanks.

Audio/Video Playback problem
I recently downloaded iTunes on my new laptop, which runs Windows XP. I also
successfully copied all of my music from my old laptop onto the new one. The

the media player cannot access files ever time i type in an artist or album
in the search column and then try to play or burn the songs it say proxy
settings incorrect or file in use may not have access to the computer where

How to remove licenses from my system.
Hi guys,
I don't want to remove the protection from wma files, I want to remove the
license from my system so that I no longer have the rights to play the
files.
The problem is that I am developing and supporting a site thats sells
protected content.
Once I have unlocked the files on my system, I can't trigger the unlock
process again to test it with a different customers account.

WMP11 / VISTA / Embeded Videos not working
Does vista support the old html embed tag?
I have never had a problem before I got vista with wmp11. At bodybuilding.com

having the latest version codec and wmp, wmp still doesn't play av
This is really weird. I used to have wmp10 and divX5 and it could play avi
files. One day I uninstalled divX5 and installed latest version 3ivX then wmp
stopped to play avi files. I got this error message "Windows Media Player
cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not
support the codec that was used to compress the file." Then I tried
uninstalling 3ivX...

volume control
I cannot increase the volume from zero...when I do the program will
automatically decrease it back to zero.
I find I have to use real player to play anything....everything works fine
with real player.
I tried upgrading from ver10 to ver 11, but I still get the same problem.
I've opened my sound panels and everything is turned up, and works with
iTunes and RealPlayer.
any ideas?...

WMP 11 will not play wav file and shows errors when converting.
I installed WMP 11 and tried to burn some audio files to CD but the files
would not copy. I tried to convert them to mp3? using your tool that appears
if you right click the files but error message 'conversion failed' as the
files were in use or had been moved. The files had not been moved and were

My MP3 Player deletes songs if I have deleted them from Windows.
I have a vast library of CDs and I put them all on my computer and then my
MP3 player. I have to use Windows Media 10 for this specific MP3 player
though. When I sync the two together, they are perfect, but if I go to
delete a song off of my computer, it will then delete it off of the MP3
player the next time I sync them. Is there a way to keep songs on the MP3

Determining Root license expiry date

Whats the best way to programmatically determine the expiry date of a

Just been messing around with IWMDRMLicenseQuery to query
QueryLicenseState, but I get a blank array
back for the dates - passing either the root key or a leaf key.

TV Tuner will not work properly (w/ Vista and WMC)
Bought new Gatway PC. Connected Comcast cable and ISP to PC. WMC cannot

NO Video only Audio

Organization questoins for WMP11
I have wmp11 setup so that it only organizes files that I transfer to my
