Serious trouble :(
Ok first things first i've ran loads of different virus softwares through my
laptop and it has found nothing. A week or so ago I decided to move my files
around so there more ordered, like a file for each letter of the alphabet to
find music easier. Since then no songs work on media player. I've downloaded
the update but it just says for every single song windows media player has

Freeware CD Ripping Suggestion Request
Hi all!
I am looking for FREE software to rip CDs that does not collect metadata so
I can burn karaoke CDs with and without vocals--something that's easy to use,
clean and reliable--something like Winamp Pro and Roxio softare to rip CDs to
WMA format.
Any suggestions???

Satelitte Signal
Can I receive a Satellite signal from channels other then 2,3 or 4?
I am trying to setup Windows Media Center TV support with Dish Network. My
Satellite Signal is received on Channel 60. Channels 2,3 and 4 are not
available. A Dish Network receiver will support 2 tvs. The primary will
work off channels 3 and 4. The secondary TV must receive the signal from

Streaming audio in real time from server
Hi,
Can anyone point me to info on how to stream audio from a web server in more
or less real time (i.e. exact synchronization is not an issue but it would
be nice if the stream was no more than a few seconds behind the source). If

Any ideas how I can WMP 11 to automatically reconnect streaming radio when it

How To Rip Karaoke Music with Windows Media Player
Hi !
I have looked EVERYWHERE on the Internet trying to find an answer to this...
I have several karaoke style CDs that have one disk with vocals and one disk
without. Windows Media Player will not allow me to rip the second CD--it
recognizes them both as the same and states it was already ripped to the
library.
Is there some way around this??

WMP 11 playback error
When playing quite a few of my wmv video files, if I try to skip ahead in the
timeline, I get an error saying that wmp has had a problem playing the file
and must close. If I click on the web help, it takes me to a page about
sound devices and drivers. Even though this computer is brand new out of the
box last week, I updated and everything seems to be in order with my sound
device.

can't burn cd from wmplayer? says try slower speed
I have tried everything to burn a normal cd from windows media player but
after it reads all the songs and is ready to burn it says try a slower speed
or different brand (using sony CD-R), i have also tried sonic recordnow! and
nero, to no avail. Surely a sony brand is compatible with one of these
players? I've also tried going back to wmplayer 9 and re-installing latest
version as well?...

Help, can't burn Cd's
Our computer, a Dell, had Microsoft Works on it, which I hate. So we removed
it & installed Office Home & Student. I also removed Dell Jukebox b/c I
didn't use it. Now I can play music with Windows Media, but can't burn Cd's.
Someone told us to download Yahoo Jukebox, but that has not changed the
situation. I've tried to burn Cd's with Yahoo, but it says that some of the
files aren't on ...

media changing... what is it?
Hi.. I'm using WMP11, everything seems find apart from the time it takes to
open a video file (WMV) it seems theres a delay with the words "media
changing..." in the corner... thumbnails and video information is viewable in
vista instantly... i wondered why such the delay in opening and how can i
stop this?...

Problems with mini player & WoW
I run the mini player while playing WoW.
The problem I'm having is that every time the song changes, it pops up to
show you and screws up my game.
the pop up name thing is showing thru WoW, and is right over my inventory
bags, so if I'm clicking on something in there, the graphic EQ cuts on, and
im forced to drop to desktop, open the media player to full size, then back
to mini.

acer idea 510 and set up box
Hello.
I got an acer idea 510, which I have connected to a set up box (from Get).
My problem is that I can not get the set up box to communicate with the Acer
media center in live TV. I'm using the remote to Acer idea. Is there
something I can do with the software to make it work? Thank you....

WMP 11 doesn't show the item I'm interested in
For me the most troublesome thing with Windows Media Player 11 is that when I
sort by a column in the library, the Player always shows items from the
beginning, without showing the item I select (i.e. what I'm interested in).
(Just imagine how difficult it would be if there are thousands of items
between!)

How Do I Rip MP3 Files from MP3 Discs to Media Player?
Does anyone know if it is possible to rip Mp3 files from a set of MP3 compact
discs into Windows Media Player and then sync them with my digital audio
player or iPod?
If this is possible, can it be done with Windows Media Player 10, or would I
need version 11?

IE 7 - Can't access Internet Options - Help please !
I'm presently on my son's laptop because I can't type in "certain" fields or

Missing Radio Station
I used to listen to WILD FM (Top 40) on the Media Guide in Windows Media
Player (which I know is just loading windowsmedia.com). A few days back,

Stream mobile video to server
Hi.
Is it possible to stream a video cam directly to a windows media server? I know this can be done by setting up the windows media encoder software but is there a way to interface with the encoder so the user can just click START and the content will be pushed to the server.
If it is possible, how do i configure the server to wait for the push. especially if the client has dynamic IP.
