blank screen when playing videos
When playing videos on media player in vista ultimate I get a blank screen.
So far I have searched the net without finding a solution to this problem. I
have no problems in "realplayer", and media center works fine. I also note
that I do not get to see any "visulisations". I am using a nvidia 8500 card
and have reloded the drivers several times as well as using the generic
windows VGA dr...

How do I get Windows Media Player to be in m system tray?
I'm running Media Player 11 in Vista Home Basic. On first run of MP
on the new PC I was asked if I wanted to minimise Media Player to the
System Tray. I said "yes" and got a wonderful little set of icons in
my system tray to control MP, restore it, close it etc.
Since then I've lost it and can't get it back. MP is running just
fine, I have no other problems/issues, but I want my MP in the...

Windows Files.
My computer has been running very slow. I have done several "clean ups". In
explorer I noticed that I have a file named TEMP at C:\windows\temp. The
file says it contains 1818 files and 610 folders.
Are these anything I need?...

Problem on loading Media Player 6.4 Active-X Control

How to make auto-streaming of media player.
Hi,
I am developing an application in ASP.NET using c#.
In that I am taking Windows MEdia Player.
When client is going to play Audio File it takes time for streaming,
I want the streaming to happen while the page loads,
so that user doesn't have to wait longer to listen to the audio.
Please let me know if any body knows the solution....

I keep getting an error connect a burner and restart?
I have been able to burn cd's and not problem before and I don't understand
why now? I have done updates and then I resorted to burning a cd on my sonic
burner (I Have xp2002) and I don't like it. then it's also not reconizing
some of
my songs on sonic that they are a "valid music file"

Streaming Audio + WMP + IE7 Doesn't Work
I'm having a very weird problem, Actually, my brother is having it and
I'm trying to troubleshoot it long-distance, so it's been a laborius
process.
Windows XP SP2
IE 7
WMP 11
He can listen to streaming audio EXCEPT when the web site uses its own
web-based media player. Then he no audio but, and this is the weird
part, we can see the video stream.
If he goes to a site that launches ...

WMP missing in Toolbars Menu of Vista Taskbar
Hi,
I want to enable mini mode for WMP 11. Oddly, when I right-click on open
area of Taskbar and select Toolbars, "Windows Media Player" is missing from
the choices there.
How can I enable mini-mode?
I am running Vista Business with all updates applied. The computer is a new
(less than 1 month old) OptiPlex model from Dell....

Vista Premium Sound Problem
Just upgraded from Basic to Premium - after upgrade speaker icon has red x
thru it and when mouse hovers over it says "No Audio Output Device is
Installed"
Have checked Device Manager which says my "Sigma Tel High Definition Audio
CODEC" device is working properly! Have checked for new drivers thru Windows
and Internet services and am told I have the correct driver.

Ripping issues
When I go to Rip a CD I get a message that says "Windows Media Player cannot
create the playlist because the name already exists. Type a different

Can't play CDs or DVDs
All of a sudden I can't play a DVD or a CD on my computer. I have Windows XP
2005, tried to update to the current Windows Media and still can't play the
Cd or DVD. When I try this is the box I get:
Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file. For

I don't know what to look for in Web help.

Internet Explorer will not open Windows Media Player
When I try to stream a video clip from a website using Internet Explorer, I
get the page saying "Internet Explorer cannot open this website". I am able
to download to my desktop and then view.
The manufacturer (HP) has not been able to help, nor is my ISP.

Media Library Problems

Convert a live stream from h264 to WM format?
Hello all --
I am receiving a live stream in H.264 and need to convert it so I can
redistribute the stream via WMS. Are there any solutions for this?
Also I would like to create a “TIVO style†live stream so the user can
rewind/replay a scene and then fast forward to the live stream. Are there any
solutions for this as well?

C00D11B1 Error - Help!
I have been plagued by the error on and off since i upgraded to Vista
(ultimate).
What i do know is:
- occurs with Video files
- only occurs with files that are DRM protected
- the file itselft is fine in that it can be viewed via Real Player
What I have tried so far:
- renamed the drm file
- updated 'security' components (completed successfully)
- updated my audio driver

Media Player 11
Hi, I found two major setbacks to this new edition. One, it has no easy 'now
playing' pane, which would be visible in all views. Secondly, when in
minimzed mode on the taskbar, there is no 'quick access' button to choose
different music, like artists etc... It was for these two major setbacks that
I downgraded to media player 10!!...

Media Player update and library
Yesterday I updated my Windows Media Player and when I did I lost all but
three of my files that were in my media library. They are still on the
computer where I ripped them and I have tried to add them to the library
through WMP but the system does not pick them up. The only thing that works
at this point is rolling back to the previous version but I really like WMP
11. What should I do...

Windows Media Player has Stopped Working.
I am running Vista Home Premium on my laptop. Media Player was working fine
until one day, it refused to open. It just comes up with a pop-up saying it
has stopped working, and is checking for a solution. It has never worked
since.
VLC media player has poor HD image quality, and Winamp's media library
doesn't seem to be working. I've tried all sorts of sneaky and seemingly
dangerous way...

WMP11 Quit working.
I don't know what happend here, but WMP11 quit working on my hp 6030N. Now,
it does work under a different profile, but will not work under my profile.
Not sure what to do, and I am NOT interested in switching profiles.
I really want it back, because quite honestly i find it to be the best mp3
player out there are the moment....

DRM and WMP10 AFTER ROLLBACK
Hi,
I was wondering if I could get some help.
I cannot stand WMP11 Beta for the life of me. I just don't plain like it,
so I rolled back to WMP10.
Now, I downloaded a file with a license and have tried to play it, to no
avail.
What's the problem.
There isn't even a folder for DRM involving WMP.
What should I do?
Do I need to go back to WMP11? Can I avoid Beta?
