Secutiry Issue
I have observed that, if some one installs a spy software without us knowing on our computer, its not possible to detect those softwares, as they run on stealth mode. Did microsoft think on this matter, as this is a biggest threat to a user if he/she does not know that some one has installed a spy software on their computer. does microsoft have any solution for this kind of scenerio ...

adding DLLs to windows\system - access denied
I need to add in DLLs, and the system isn't letting me. It isn't giving me the option, it's just stopping me from putting the DLL in the file completely. Look, it's my computer, I'm an adult, and I can take calculated risks with my machine - I even back up first! I want to know how to disable these "security" measures that are only keeping me from what I want to do with the machine. ...

Standard user needs regedit UAC prompt
Hello. The term 'Admin' is the main administrator on the computer (run by a person, not the actual 'Administrator' hidden account). Here's what's happening: I am NOT an administrator on my family's computer. The Admin, however, is a control freak. I am not supposed to know my own password to my account, but I do anyway and the Admin doesn't know that. I have opened backdoors to give ...

Driver installation during application install
I was installing an application. A dialog box poped up saying the driver wasn't signed or something. It did not say which driver or give any details. There were two choices which amounted to allow or disallow. I thought about it but in 5 or 10 seconds the dialog box disappeared and a progress box showed up indicating progress installing a driver. A thought on improving Vista security.
Hello everyone, I have an idea that I think would really help improve Vista security. At the same time, it would make Vista run faster and take up less space, and it would make things more difficult for malicious hackers. Could someone tell me the flaw in this thinking ? Create an application called "Customize Windows" which presents to the user a list of yes/no questions. It wou...

Maintaining Vista from orbit; what mOS?
Vista is the first NT-based OS to ship with a maintenance OS... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maintenance_OS .... as accessed by booting the Vista DVD (which is when you don't want to be a victim of large-OEM "Genuine Advantage") and going to the Repair section, Command prompt.
