Unregister regsvr32
Greetings;
This problem was caused by lmpgspl.ax (Follow the steps in the article to
unregister this binary, e.g. regsvr32 /u lmpgspl.ax). lmpgspl.ax (Follow the

screen saver
I got Vista and my screen saver doesn't work. I choose one , 2min time ,
click apply,ok .then I wait 2 min. but it doesn't activate. Am I doing

Disable Power Plan
I am using a Belkin 1500VA UPS on my computer. The Belkin is set to shutdown
the computer in 20 minutes after power failure. However, the power plan on
windows vista 32 bit is taking over and it shuts down the computer after 3
minutes. Is there anyway to fix this? Is it possible to disable vista's power
plan so the Belkin UPS can do it's thing?...

Back-Up Help on Vista Home Premium please
When I try and carry out a Back-Up I get the following Error Message:
The backup did not complete successfully

SMSS.exe -> High CPU usage
Hi!
I've got Vista Ultimate (32-bit) on my DELL D420, 2GB RAM.
I've got the problem shutting down the machine takes about 5 min or so...
I've heard others have the same problem, too, but don't know any solution?!
The last days I've got another curious thing: SMSS.exe takes over 50% of CPU
and the RAM usage of my machine is over 90%. Only autostart-programs were
started, no programms...

Help
Before purchasing my PC from Panama airport, the seller tried it out and set
Spanish as the main language. It has been a week since I am trying to change
it into English. I did change the unicode, and have the keyboard in English
but still the menus are still in Spanish\
What can be done, please help...

Blue Screen of Death on Complete PC Backup
Everytime I go to do a complete PC backup to my second internal HDD, I get
the BSD...I start the backup normally, and select my second HDD Maxtor 320GB
SATA II 16mb. Then the backup process begins and runs almost what i guess

Explorer Hangs/freezes

Vista is a nightmare
As an IT contractor for the last seven years I've had to keep up to date

Shutting down Vista
For about the last week (I guess since the latest Vista update), my computer
won't shut down; I have to do a hard boot. Microsoft Update is set to run
automatically every morning at 2 AM and like this morning, I came home at
7:30 AM to find Windows in the process of shutting down. Yesterday, I
rebooted the computer and I sat there for 20 minutes and it still saying
"Shutting down". Ha...

Scripting performance setting
Hi,
I'm trying to do some auto tuning in my vista enviroment.
For example, i'm trying to set some setting using script like,
Enable\Disable AERO, tweak Performance Setting to "Best Performance" and
enable "Advanced Performance" on HDs.
Did some one secceeded in doing this and can direct me to a solution ?

This Copy of Windows is not genuine
I purchased my copy from Best Buy the second week it was released and all
has been well until about 3 weeks ago. I started getting error messages that
my copy was not genuine. In the lower right corner of the screen it stated:
Windows Vista (TM)
Build 6000
This copy of Windows is not genuine,
One of the error messages is that "Windows Aero is not working" forgot what
the other was....

Windows Vista 32 Bit only shows 3GB of 4GB of ram in the system
My bios shows all 4 gigs of the ram but for some reason my windows only
detects 3 gigs.
Does anyone know how to correct this? My motherboard is a Gigabyte
GA-59SLI-G5 so i know that isnt the issue. Is it just a flat out bug in
Vista because it should read all 4GB of ram. Also, Im running 2 Nvidia
GeForce 7950 GT Superclocked graphic cards with 512 MB of ram each so its not

System Freezes when uploading
I found lots of posts about freezing problems, but none of them related to
data uploading.
Usually when I'm uploading something the entire system suddenly freezes
making a terrible buzz (like an alarm)... and even if I wait a couple of min,
my only option is to press the shutdown button. I've tried to make lighter
uploads, but it's not about data volume. Even when sending e-mail attachm...

Readyboost service and high CPU utilisation
Hi,
For the past couple of days, I've noticed my CPU usage is very high at idle
(>50% on one core of my Athlon64x2).
I finally got annoyed enough to try to work out what it was, and it turns
out it was the readyboost service (I used task manager and the process
explorer). This is odd, because I don't have any USB drives attached to the
system. What's stranger is that it happened...

KB931768 problem - ***solved***
I had posted in a couple of various threads that I was also affected by this
update (KB931768) under both Vista and Windows XP. Under Vista, Windows Mail
had become so slow as to be almost impossible to use. Clicking on a post in
the news groups took about 2-4 seconds to show the text in the bottom.
Replying to a post also took about 2-4 seconds to bring us a usable reply

The above message appears just after the boot screen on a black screen with

Vista Shut down issues
So far I like Vista, everyting seems to run smoothly, except shut down.. When
I choose to shut down Vista it takes on average 5 minutes to complete.. Start
up is no problem.. For software all I have installed was my antivirus AVG,
Adobe Reader, drivers for my video card, mouse and keyboard.. What can be the
problem, and will the first service pack have a fix for this.. Thanks.....

Welcome Center freezing
For the past week or two, my PC's welcome center has been freezing. It pops
up while it's logging in, and then it just freezes, before any of the page

Internet Explorer Crash
i bought a laptop with windows vista pre-installed. i find it strange that
my Internet Explorer crashes everytime I exit the program. There's this
message that pops up saying my current application stopped and that Windows
is trying to look for a solution to the problem, in which case I click on
cancel. It doesn't have any effect on the other programs. It's just that

Can't Shrink System Volume?
I have a notebook with a 93GB Vista partition. Only about 15GB is in use. I
want to shrink the partition to make a 20GB second partition; but Disk
Management|Shrink will ONLY let me shrink the partition by 2GB - which is
useless.
What is going on?

screen going black
ok, I thought this was only a problem when playing the microsoft games, but
it just happened while I was checking email also.
I bought a new laptop that came with Vista... I have been able to work
around most of the bugs.....with very little aggravation... the one thing
that does bug me a bit is that when i play the games OR when I check
email... the screen goes black... I move the curs...
