i can't restore my computer
I'm trying to restore my computer from Backup & Restore Center, but when i
click on "Use System Restore to fix problems and undo changes to Windows", i
get the fallowing error:

System Volume Information
I have noticed that my System Volume Information folder is very big.
I cleared the restores and it went down to 600MB because it has to leave the
lastest.
However, after 4 days, it has already risen to 5GB in size.
My hard disk is 160GB capcacity.
How large should the folder be and will it rise to a certain point and then
stop?
What proportion of the drive does the folder take up....

backup internal error?
I tried to backup my files using Vista's backup tool, but when it's almost
done, I always got an internal error. The error code is 0x81000004. How can I
solve it?
I'm using file backup, not complete pc backup....

External Hard Drive
I would like to purchase an external hard drive to use for Vista Back
Ups. Several people have recommended Western Digital, but I'm not sure what
model I should get. How many GB do I need? Do I need USB 2.0 and/or Foxwire?
What will work well with Vista Home Premium and be easy to use (I've never
used an external HDD previously)? Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

Performance Tab Reading Wrong?
Is it me, or is the Physical Memory reading wrong. I think that the "Cached"
reading is the free memory, and the "Free" reading is the Cached memory.
My Cached reading is always higher then the Free reading, yet the Memory
graphs shows that I have pleanty of memory available. Microsoft, you need to
fix this confussing issue......

Error durring startup for Microsoft Windows Vist
When I boot up my PC I get an error saying, " \windows\system32\config\system
is missiong or corupt", " Status: 0xc000000f".
When I start the computer from the vista cd and enter the repair option I
enter the "System Recovery Options". There I am asked which operating system
I would like to repair, but the problem is no operating systems are show, I

Vista HP - "Windows Explorer has stopped working"
I get the above error every single time I go into Windows Contacts and try
do anything. I can open Windows Contacts ok, but if I click or right click
on any contact, I get the above error, then "Windows Explorer is
restarting".
I can view and use my contacts fine from within Windows Mail, I only get the
error when actually opening the Windows Contacts app.

Flip 3D strange behaviour
Is it possible to disable Flip 3D without turning the Aero theme off?
I'll explain why
I have the following problem. Whatever program is open, even when i want to
use
right-click-->destop properties I loose focus!!
I can't click anywhere! For instance, if a dialogue box is open you see that
this box has the focus (colour of the titlebar). Clicking on an option box

Screen dims a lot
When ever Norton or another program tries to access or up date the screen
dims untill I click on the programbox etc. I would like to change this
option but can't find it in the search box. It's driving me nutzzzzz plus I
don't like the screen fluctuating like that.

Windows Vista Email not Loading
I have been having a problem loading my Windows Mail since I did an automatic
update. I keep getting various error messages. Is there a way I can
uninstall Windows mail, and then re-install the whole application? It seemed
to be a .dll file, and then it was an .exe file. I can't seem to get it to
run!!! Any help would be greatly appreaciated!...

Blue screen, major slowdown in processing, error messages
I frequently get a blue screen with a severe error message and something
about crash and dump . . . what is causing this problem?
The whole system is extremely slow - takes a long time to open anything,
much slower than XP I came from. Why?
Every time I turn on my system I get 2 error messages - one says "eDSloader
has stopped working" and the other says "Sorry! Unsupported Operating ...

Backup files in Windows Vista
I am trying to backup my computer files in Vista. This is my first time so
I’m a little lost. Does anyone have suggestions? What happed the first time I
tried to do the backup was this:
1: I went to control Panel and clicked backup.
2 a list dropped down so I could choose which files I wanted to backup.

Buttons That Dont Work
I've got a brand new laptop that came with Vista Home Premium installed. I
keep getting system hangs where I try to push a button and nothing happens.
It could be any button at any time. For example, I sign on to Hotmail and
the same thing that worked earlier no longer works. I enter the password,
push the sign in button and the box momentarily changes color and then
nothing happens....

Help!!! Computer really sluggish.
Bought My computer a few months ago and it came with a free rebate offer for
Vista. Got the Cd Yesterday and installed it. Now my computer runs slow as
hell!! Takes forever to boot up to open IE or really anything else!!! I have

windows performance baseline score
im not sure if im in the right group but i thought i would just post it and
hope for the best!!
right i have tried to update my baseline score because i had to reinstall
windows now everything is basicaly the same as it was befor but i did not run
the test befor so i do not know if it worked or not but every time i run it
it just does not want to update my score it just keeps saying tha...

Open with????
This is soooo weird....and this never happened before. Okay well i wanted to
see why my speed wasn't increasing from my sd card from readyboost and went
into (E:) to check and double clicked readyboost and it asked me what to open
it with....what do i do? I am so confused at what happened and why it didn't
make my laptop faster. My sd card is 512mb, capacity of 485mb, and is using
480 m...

WindowsUpdate_80240016 error
This error appeared after my pc crashed installing windows updates, i get
the message that an application has caused the installed module to stop
working and nothing more on what the application was or why. I have 5 or so
updates left that cannot be installed and I have found no info on MS
knowledge base....please help

Live icons (pictures, video preview) not working
Live icons (pictures, video preview) not working: U have the options set in
folder options but the thumbnail previews are not working, and it used to
work and it stoped working today. Tried cleaning thumbnail cache with windows
clean disk utility but still no preview icons. Anyone have any other soluton?

Incompatible version of the serializing package. (0x80070724)
System restore, System backup, Restore point, none of this stuff works. Its
always the same error: 'Incompatible version of the serializing package.
(0x80070724)'. Googled it every which way, but no joy! Anybody know if this
will ever be fixed? Not even a hint at Microsoft.com that this problem
exists. I figured this was the best way to to let them know. Anybody out
there heard anything ...

Windows Mail back to snail mail speed
Sorry to be an irritation but I have a small issue to resolve. A while back
some of us had trouble with Windows Mail going into slow motion after a
certain update. I remember someone saying which update it was, and that it
was OK to delete it, they even found out it was due to Spigot being
installed.
Could someone please tell me which update it was.
