CPU pegged at near 100% - TrustedInstaller
Hi,
I've been running Vista x64 since it came out and have had no
performance issues with it whatsoever until today. I turned the
machine on today, and it's running dog slow with both cores of my
Pentium D 805 pegged at near 100%. All I can tell from Task Manager
is TrustedInstaller is taking up a large chunk of the CPU. I have no
other applications running. I have 1 GB RAM and a large...

Runtime Error 55?
I am receiving a Runtime Error 55 "File already open" every time I open a
particular program (Examsoft/Softest). I have already tried 1) end tasking
every open program; 2) shutting down and restarting; 3) disk cleanup; 4)
system restore to before the problem. No luck. Unfortunately, it is
absolutely not an option to uninstall and reinstall the program. Any ideas?
Thanks!...

Vista, IE 7, very slow loading except as Admin
Hi,
Any help would be much appreciated! I have a new computer that came with
Vista Home Premium. I have slowly been adding peripherals and applications.
I have noticed successively decreasing performance of IE - not everything,
just IE. The latest is it takes 20 sec to load IE w/ Google as the one and
only home page. Now, the kicker is that if I run IE using the "Run as

Vista VERY slow for 10 minutes after startup.
My wife recently purchased an Acer Aspire 5100 Notebook for her work which

vista was virtually unresponsive for about 10-15 minutes. After that time
everything ran fine. There has been only one application installed on the
