Ridiculous Methods for Checking Network Status
I am very impressed with Vista's new Networking Center, however i think that
it is disgusting that i cannot check the status of my network connection
without going through a whole load of menus.
For example, I wish to check the speed and IP address of my Wireless
Network, I have to;
Right click on the icon, Network and Sharing Center, Manage Network
Connections and find it in the list....

Isolating server from wide area network
I have a small network in my office. It connects to the internet via a

faster speeds of Gigabit for transfering files, I have a neatgear Gigabit
switch connected to the uplink port on the Linksys router and have 3
machines connected to the Gigabit switch.
All is well with the network and internet connections.

Another folder sharing question
Bottom line: how can I convince Vista to share a folder. Here's my status:
Vista hardwired to XP via router. Both workgroups are the same, and
firewalls are MS. Both computers CAN see each other and XP DOES share ALL
its shared folders from Vista, but XP can't get Vista to share its "shared"
folders, except the Public folder. The printer works well for both.
