Trouble recording television with Windows Media Center
I tried using MC to record a television show while the computer was in
standby. When I went to watch the show, it was in black and white and had no
sound. I haven't had any problems recording shows while I watch them. Does
anyone have any suggestions?

Problem with my pictures. (Windows Photo Gallery, Vista)
Hello. I have a problem with my picture viewing. Everytime I look at any of
my pictures for some reason they change color. For example if a picture
originally has a white background, it maintains it in its thumbnail view, but
when I click on it to see it, the color of the entire page changes to yellow.
Could anyone please help me? Thank you for your time....

Vista & Microsoft Digital Image Pro
I just found out MS Digital Image Pro has been discontinued and I read that
it is not compatible with Vista.
I just bought a new laptop with Vista. Should I send it back now or is
there anything I can do to make it compatible?...

dvds on hard drive
My problem is: I want to take all of my homemade dvds and copy them in some
format? to an external hd so that i can play them whenever I travel from the
external hd. I have tried and tried. What format should these be in to be
able to play them in the windows media player?

Opening a picture
If I go to 'pictures' and try to double click on the photo [thumbnail] all I
get is a message that reads "unable to fully open application because of
unknown error".
I can open the picture in windows photo gallery or other programs. Why
doesn't it let me open it just by going to it in 'pictures'?...

windows dvd maker
I have vista home premium, I've burned 2 dvds on the windows dvd maker then
all of a sudden on the next dvd it has a box that reads"dvd burner not
found..." Went through all the steps with HP, not a hardware problem, I can
burn dvds on roxio software, but not the windows.help! It's a brand new media
center .

DXDiag Crashes & others
I tried installing the trial of Sony Vegas. It installed but crashes on the
initial loading of the program always where it says 'Initizing DirectX
Plug-ins'.
I tried running DXDiag and it crashes. When I rerun it, it says it had a
problem accessing Directshow.
I installed and ran DS Filter Enumerator.
It shows me all installed filters. When I click on Video Compressors it

What's the deal with all this "super" searching in Vista?
What's the deal with all this "super" searching in Vista that appparently
doesn't work for me?
I've added tags, captions and other metadata to many of my photos. However,
none of these photos show up when I perform a search. I'm sure I'm probably
doing something wrong but I have no idea what it is. One thing I should
mention is that I'm not using the normal Windows Vista photo locations...

I deleted "My Pictures" "My Music"
Hi I did a reinstall and was moving all the "My Documents" related stuff. I
accidently deleted "My Picutres" and "My Music" permantly. These folders
were empty. I'm not wondering how to get back my data.
I am wondering how to get the special folders "My Pictures" and "My Music"
back? I can make folders with these names in the correct place but I don't
know how to assoicate, or tell win...

Slide show themes quit working
For no apparent reason, the themes in slide show suddenly stopped working. I
just get a black screen. Pressing the "escape" button will get me back to
what I was doing. The only mention I have found of this problem is here:

solution. It doesn't restore the functionality of the themes themselves.

No (.AVI) Video in Windows Media Player 11
Hi
My OS is Vista Business.When i load a Windows Movie (.AVI) into my WMPlayer
it plays the audio but not the video [no picture].On my previous XP Window it
played with no problem.Since I'm very new to Win Vista I wonder if anybody
can help me out and tell me how I could fix this problem.Looking forward to

photo gallery
How do I uninstall photo gallery-it's never worked and just says this
programme is not responding and will have to close down.
I'll use another more reliable program to organise and open pictures etc, so
this photo gallery has to go!

Vista explorer crashes during slideshow
Whenever I use the slideshow feature in windows vista, it crashes either
before the first picture even appears or soon after. Vista automatically
restarts explorer at this point. I tried fixing the problem and it appears
that this happens only when viewing pictures taken by my sister's Casio
EX-Z40 but not with pictures taken by several of my Sony cameras. I am
running the latest drivers...

Windows Vista Photo Gallery.
Can anyone help me change the way Vista Photo Gallery saves photos to the
Pictures location, as well as recently imported location, as well as a
catagory I set by naming a Tag, or creating a folder which I name? I've
tried working with the program, but it keeps putting photos I import in all
three locations. Is there anyway I can stop it putting photos in the
recently imported section ...

DVD Maker Error
I am having trouble burning a DVD with Vista Home Premium. It keeps coming
up with a "Catostrophic Error" at around 33%.
I have made a Movie in Movie Maker and when I go to burn it I have the above
error. The movie size was a 25min movie. I thought it might have been a
corrupted file so I tried buring the first half of the movie with complete

Vista movie maker freeze-up
After 20 min of editing in movie maker - timeline / storyboard freezes. Clip
in preview pane won't play. I move a new clip into preview pane and it'll
play - timeline/storyboard won't. If I use more that one transition the same
freeze occurs. Movie maker 6.0 version. Anyone have any help on this issue?...

Video blanking out
I created a movie using the Movie Maker program, hoping to post it on
Youtube. It plays just fine in the Movie Maker preview and everything, but
when I publish it, it blanks out the last few scenes. The music continues to
play in the background but the pictures don't show up; only black screen.
Does anyone know what to do to fix this? PLEASE!...

Windows Photo Gallery in Vista
Does anyone know how to change the default settings in Vista Photo Gallery so
it does not save a copy of each and every photo I import to three locations,
ie., Pictures, Recently Imported and also a folder wherein I create a TAG or

I got a big irritating problem with Windows Vista. I got a ASUS MW22U 16:10
wideescreen ang run Vista @ 1680x1050 60Hz. This resolution is one I think
