Do I have to download flash player?
I just bought a new computer with Vista Home Premiun.
Do I have to download flash player to view images and audio files from
internet?
After clicking the button that select the songs on a web page, the song does
not play back.

Saving tiff files
I've just installed Vista but have problems downloading tiff files from
www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk . Never had problems such as this with XP & I
suspect there is something easily corrected.
On the web site concerned, when I click on the save icon the default offered
is to save the image on the C drive as sample.tif. However the image doesn't
get saved.

Rotating Images
I was wondering if there was a way to enable rotating images in Windows Photo
Gallery Viewer?
I dont want to have to open the Windows Photo Gallery just to rotate one
image. I just want to do a quick edit.
I was able to in XP. I dont think they'd remove that function.
To give you more information, this is what I am doing:
Double-Click the jpeg on my desktop--->a preview is shown...

adding files to pre-existing CD with files on it
I have Windows Vista---how can I add files to a CD that already has files on
it?
I have tried the HELP which was no help---it just told me that I could do
it. I have
performed this task before on my other computer with XP and had no problem.
I just tried to add files to a CD and it went thru the motions as if it
added them, but when I checked the CD afterward, they were not there! Please ...

Not recognizing scanner
Hi,
When I go to Windows Vista Photo Gallery to scan a photo the program doesn't
recognize that I have a scanner device installed although Device Manager
shows that I do and it is properly installed. Pressing refresh does nothing.
When I installed another photo program, that shows that my scanner IS
installed. My scanner has Vista compatible software. How do I get Photo

My computer keeps shutting down
Every time I go to listen to music that is downloaded into the hard drive,
after a random period of time, the music will start skipping, go to the Blue
Screen, then restart. It is a brand new computer, and I am running Vista
Business Edition. All I use the computer for is music, so any feedback would
be greatly apreciated....

Questions about the automatic slideshow maker in Vista Photo Galle
Marvelous tool, just push F11 or the knob at the bottom of the window and
with with a beamer you can produce a spendid slideshow on the wall or a huge
screen! Much appreciated also are de different modes of operation, however I
have 3 little problems:

working on my Vista Home Premium edition. They work fine if I copy/paste the

Windows DVD Maker only recognizes 8 sec of a 15 min file
I am trying to make a DVD of my daughter's Kindergarten play. I can add the
..vob file to the menu, but when it shows up it only recognizes the first 8
seconds of the file.
How do I get the program to recognize the entire file so I can burn this disk?

Hi All,
Why when you close Media player half way through a DVIX or XVID does the
sound still play. Ctrl-Alt-Del shows as a process still.???
Is it the codecs causeing this or Media Palyer.???

AAC files in Vista Media Center
I recently got an iPod, so used iTunes to convert all my songs to AAC
format. Now they don't show up in MC at all on the PC or the 360.
On the 360's main dashboard Media blade I can find them all, but they're all
under "Unknown Artist" and "Unknown Album". It's as if the 360 can't read
the tags from an AAC file, but can play the song ok.
In iTunes all tags, etc, are set correctly.

Vista Home premium media player problem
I have a new dell pc xps 410 and when I play mp3 or wma's that work fine on
my xp windows media player on my other 2 pc's on the new vista home prem
media player towards the end of each song I play no matter which one it

Scheduling Vista MCE to start tv
Hi,
I was wondering if anybody knew how to configure Vista MCE to start the live
tv at a particular time, lets say, when i wake up in the morning, i want the
live tv to be my alarm clock. I usually leave my computer on all the time,
so i was wondering if there was a way, either through Task Scheduler, or
within MCE itself, to accomplish this.

Vista dvd maker
Lets say I want to create a dvd from my home made video, using dvd maker. I
select a menystile and add som music to it, then I click the preview butten
and see the dvd meny as I would see it on my normal dvd player.
There I discover that it only plays a cople of secunds of the music I
selected and restarts the music, this is probebly to save space on the dvd,

Change Windows Photo Gallery Display Size
Hello,
Using Vista, I view photos using Windows Photo Gallery. I am able to change
the 'display size' (using the zoom icon) to magnify an individual image but
when I move to the next image the display size resets to the default zoom and
I manually increase the zoom.
Is it possible to change the default zoom to what I want (and, if so, how)?

Connecting my old Dual 1228 turntable to my new HP
I have an old Dual 1228 turntable hooked through a pre ampand want to connect
it to my HP computer. My goal is to scrub and record my old vynl records in
the Windows Media Player center. My pre amp outputs are two RCA plugs.
There are no matching RCA inputs on my computer. Any ideas on how I can hook

Burn CD/DVD in Windows Media Center
The first time I burned a DVD it asked me to choose a DVD playback setting.
To start with DVD menu or play video in a continuous loop. I never saw that
option again. I want to burn my DVD to play in a continous loop. How do I
reset it to do so.
Also
Windows DVD Maker. I try to add pictures and videos but can't find the
files. Where do they locate the file at....

Audio lagging behind video by a couple seconds
Any idea why in windows media the audio on a mpeg would be a couple seconds
behind from the video? this is kinda annoying because the people speaking do

vcr capturing
New to this game, so please bear with me.
Was able to capture video in movie maker, from my vcr, when I had windows
media center installed, but now that I've upgraded to vista premium all I
could capture from is a camcorder.
I have an Angel ll dual turner card installed and in media center (movie
maker) it recognized it, but not in vista (movie maker).

playing media files
i have this really annoying problem of trying to play music files in windows
vista media player. from the library i select a song to play and it
says...media changing... i have to then wait a minute and a half between
songs. i thought it was my ram not being fast enough (1024) but tried all
