Recording from YouTube
I have Vista Home Premium. I am a novice at CD and DVD burning. Is it
possible for me to take 10 music videos fron YouTube, edit them and then
record onto a DVD like a long video? If so, how do I do this (in simple
terms)?...

dvd maker
when i go to windows DVD MAKER to burn a movie that i have downloaded... in
the menu options i change the screen to such as wigescreen or rectangle
widescreen and so on...when the movie is finished burning i put it in my dvd
player and it has the movie boxed in with 2 inches of black bars on all four
sides...i've tried most all of the settings and it always ends up in the
miiddle of the ...

Vista Media Centre display
The TV picture displayed on my 16 x 9 lcd monitor does not fill the screen in
any mode (4 x 3 or 16 x 9). There is a 3-5 cm black border around the image.
Nvidia and MC are both set at 1440 x 900 because MC fails when trying to set
the picture at the monitor's native resolution of 1680 x 1050.
I would expect the image to fill the dispaly horizontally or vertically
dependant upon the aspe...

Vista Movie Maker won't publish
Got Vista Movie Maker 6.0.6000.16386
Imported AVI, used storybord, saved project as.
But when I want to publish the movie anywhere, MM shuts
down with unknown error message.

Vista Premium Print Pictue Dialog Box
The print picture dialog box does not list my default printer under the
"printer" drop down box. The listed options are OneNote; Microsoft XPS
Document Writer; Acrobat distiller; and Install Printer. If install printer
is selected it tells you not to use this option with a USB printer. The
printer I'm attempting to use is a HP Color Laserjet 1600 which is listed as
my default printer....

How do I make iTunes work through the interface on the front
how do I make iTunes work with the play pause stop and volume buttons on the
front of the Inspiron e1705. I had it working a few days ago and it just
stopped, I'd liek to get it back but havent been able to figure it out or get

VCast Music Compatability Problems
I recently purchased a new laptop with Vista. I attempted to load VCast
music for my chocolate phone, but their is a compatability error. Is there
anything I can do?
The software worked perfectly on XP (Windows Media Player 10), so I am
confused as to why there is a problem...

Album art resoultion in Media Centre
Have just discovered Windows Media Centre - a fantastic media experience,
everything looking slick and hi-def on my shiny widescreen laptop...
So it seems a bit self-defeating that album art is displayed in lo-res, as
it looks terrible quite frankly.
When will Microsoft be correcting this gaping error?

Music Properties
Hi, Please can someone tell me if there is a way of adding album artwork to
my music files (without using iTunes) ?
Its just i had a few problems with my pc and had to re-boot, i lost all my
album artwork and would just like to attach the album artwork to each file so
that when i backup my music ill be backing up the album artwork too.

How can I turn off "Automatic Internet Information" in WMP11?
Because of inaccurate Internet info I am unable to rip some CDs. It reads
different CDs as the same one and, of course, won't rip anything it thinks is
already ripped. In MP "options", the settings are "off" so it shoudn't be
getting this info, but it does. Is there another setting I'm overlooking?

Windows Media Centre and iTunes Library
Is there a way to link my itunes library to my music library on windows media
centre. I have my itunes songs stored on an external drive and would like
them to appear in my Windows Media Library (sheer laziness I know but it
would mean I could use the remote instead of getting up and using a mouse).

MC Crashes When Burning Recorded TV Shows
Hi All,
Had Vista about a month now and am actually pretty impressed. I've just
started playing with MC and find that when I try to burn a recorded show to
DVD it stops responding.
This happens after selecting between video DVD and data DVD, I select video
DVD and then click next and nothing happens, it just stops.
Anyone else had this problem or know of a workaround, or better, wha...

cannot see picture thumbnails
i can't see the pictures when i go to the folder where they are ... they just
have the standerd gif, jpeg,.... pictures not the thumbnails... even when i
change it to view thumbnails it didnt work, but the pictures do work and can
be viewed when i open them up under the picture view

Windows (Vista) Movie Maker will not save projects
The version of movie maker I am running is 6.0.6000.16386
Windows Vista version Business edition
I made a movie added everything to the storyboard, watched it play even
published it to CD and computer. Then I hit file save project and I thought
it saved but couldn't find it, so I did a file save project as... but no save
dialog box came up. I closed the program rebooted opened movie make...

blockong by window defender
I deleted the installer for an old creative driver and was left with a file
I cannot delete. Window defender blocks the old file and prevents the new one
that is properly installed from working. It does not allow me to remove the
offending file. Now my sound, media center, players etc do not work. I do not
know how to use the registry

can't find video files on enhanced audio cds..
I'm a new Vista user, and am having a problem finding video files on enhanced
audio cds. If i double-click on the E drive in 'computer' it plays the audio
in WMP; if i 'explore' the disc it shows me the audio files but not the video
files i know for a fact are on the disc. (unfortunately i can't 'search' for

No sound after couple hours
If I leave my 2 month old new vista system unattended to for a couple of
hours, when I return, it will not have any sound. Windows media player shows
x's along anything that is playable, no sound from videos or no sound on any
other audio player which Dell had me install (i.e.) winamp although Windows

Media Sharing is not enabling
Hi, I have a slight problem with enabling Media Sharing on Microsoft Windows
Vista: Home Premium edition. When I go to the "Network and Sharing Center" I
wanted to turn on Media Sharing, but all that happens is when I click ok, the
"OK" button just turns lighter as if it were pressed and then takes no
action. I also tried enabling it through Windows Media Player "Tools" ->

Windows Media Player 11 Library Problems on Windows Vista
I'm running WMP 11 on Windows Vista and I'm having problems doing anything
with the library. When I enter new CD information in the Wizard and click
Finish no changes are recorded. When I look at my options there are no
monitored folders, and when I manually add a monitored folder the folder is
forgotten as soon as I close the dialog.
Any Advice?

photogallery + tagging + xmp
Hello, reading from different sources, tagging in vista's photogallery
should put the tags also in the xmp data inside the jpgs, however, it is not
happening on my pc
This is how it is:
-if i put tags in the image properties (right click/properties), the tags
get inserted into the xmp and i can see/use them in other computers/programs
-if i put tags in photogallery, the tags are not ins...

Can't upload photos to a website
I can't believe this. I just spent $1,000 on a new laptop with Windows
Vista, and I can't upload photos to my website. I am a photographer, and
have a host site where I upload my photos to. I never had a problem with XP,
but everytime I try to upload a photo I get an error that says Internet
Explorer has stopped working, and it will restart. I am SO FRUSTRATED! I
