Importing contacts from gmail
Hi guys,
I'm having a problem importing contacts to Windows Mail from Gmail.
After I created a CSV file I started importing contact to Windows and was
asked to map the fields I wish to import. There I had 2 columns, a text field
and a contacts field. I went to change mapping and chose first name and
finished importing and it was all wrong, I had e-mail adresses under names

Other users on my computer to access their hotmail
I a bought a new computer with vista and when I log in my hotamil email
automatically is launched. When my firend goes to look up her email on
hotmail my email comes up. How do I bypass my account and log in to her's so
she can read her e-mails? Is this possible ?

Why is my email sitting in the outbox!!!!
What happend 06/21/07 @ 6pm est. that was the time my last email was sent. I
CANT SEND ANY MAIL OUT! WHAT THE F**K. Can somebody please help.
I'm so fed up with windows vista and there compatibility issues.

can't send a word 2007 document as an attachment
I have window vista, windows mail and the 2007 office home and student
2007 version of word which does not have outlook. when i create a
word 2007 document the option of sending it as an attachment by email
is gray - so not an option. Does this not work with windows mail?
does this mean I need outlook?
also when i am in windows mail and hit the paperclip to attach the
same 2007 word doc...

I hate windows mail!!
Whenever I add a new account to my windows mail all the email goes to the
inbox folder. I made a new folder and made a rule all the mail for that
address would go into that folder. Anyway when duplicate email come in for
the 2 addresses that I have, go into one folder, the one I make the rule
for.Any suggestions?

tclough@cogeco.ca. I have been in touch with cogeco and they told be to

Login Only Available Under a Layer...???????
When I try to log in to windows mail it keeps saying that the login is only
available under a layer and then it tells me that the server has rejected my

my windows mail wont connect
I had to do a system restore to yesterday due to a virus, now my windows mail
will not connect, it gives a time-out with the network errror message. I have
done all the things in the help menu for windows mail. My system runs on

Cannot make Outlook the default program for MAILTO protocol
I want to set Outlook 2003 as my default email program when I click on a
MAILTO link in internet explorer. Instead, it defaults to MS Mail. With XP it
was very easy to set the default programs for various functions. Now when I
try to set the default program, I can't change it from MS Mail to Outlook. I

Windows Mail send/receive random behaviour
Hi - In windows mail, it will only work for sure after I open it.
Occassionally when I press send/receive it will work but thats if I lucky.
Generally I have to close it and open again then click on send/receive when
it opens. My defaults are check for messages every 3 minutes, send and

Help with Vista Premium Windows Mail Please
I have a new Desktop Computer with Windows Vista Premium.
I set up Windows Mail / News and subscribed to some newsgroups.
When using E mail or newsgroups:
I keep getting prompted for user name and password (every minute or so).
What's up with that?
Sometimes when I am typing a post in a newsgroup I look up and the password
prompt is there and I am typing my post in the password box.

I've entered the correct pop nos and smtp in but still no good it sent 1
message won't receive and now won't do either
all info from gmail has been entered what am I doing wrong?

Dear Team,
Whom do I need to contact concerning questions on XP soundrecorder and
Vista Audiorecorder
I was using the XP sound recorder a lot. Now in Vista I can only find the
Audio recorder who can do basically nothing. Also a lot of traks that I
recorded cannot be played back anymore.

Cannot send email at all!
Hey guys,
Have set up windows mail as per instructions from webmail site re server
names etc. I can now however only receive mail not send. Have contacted
webmail site for assistance and explained the problem. Am not the most
computer literate person in the world so am hoping that there's something
really simple that I'm missing! Have trawled through help and support pages

Messages stuck in my outbox
Ok, so I downloaded WMUtil, and followed all the steps given in a previous
post, but it is not working. It isn't lighting up the "Clear Outbox" box.
How long does it take for that to become an option? Are there any other

Puzzling View problem
Imported messages from Windows Mail and Outlook Express 6 into
Windows Mail. Merged imported messages into local folder. Selecting
Show All Messages all messages were visible. Selecting Group
Messages by Conversation and imported messages did not display.
Reviewed carefully all known reasons why they might not display
revealing no explanation. Compacted and no change.
Is this a known bug...
