Windows mail has stopped sending and receiving emails.
I upgraded to Vista a few weeks ago, and was doing just fine.
Today, Windows Mail stopped sending and receiving emails!
ISP says all good;
Microsoft offered either to charge me to let me talk to someone OR transfer
me to HP for free for their assistance (the tranfer of my call was all that
was free);
HP free couldn't resolve, but offered to transfer me to pay for assistance.

Birthdays in Mail to Calendar
When I put in a birthday into a Windows Vista Mail contact how can I get that
to transfer to my calendar? Does anyone have any suggestions or do I just
need to manually enter them into the calendar?

Duplicate Contacts
In Outlook Express, my contacts were put into different folders - e.g.
Shared, Business, Archive, etc. After importing OE contacts into Vista
Windows Mail, all of the contacts displayed in the Contacts folder. For
example, contacts having a personal address and a different business address
were both shown in the Contacts folder.
I created additional subfolders (Business, Archive, etc....

Windows Mail, IE7 and Outlook unable to access Internet
I bought a new Dell (for my home machine) with Windows Vista ultimate so
that I could code software faster with Visual Studio 2005. It's a good

Windows Mail is in "frozen" stage
Just launched Windows Mail for the first time on my new computer. I
individually transfered over some emails from my old Outlook. The emails
came through fine BUT I am not able to do anything with them. Everytime I

Can I open outlook mails in windows mail?
I just bought a new PC with vista and Windows Mail. I used to use outlook to
recieve my mails. Therefore, I copy my outlook mail folder (pst file) to my
new PC and try to open my saved mails in window mail. However, when i tried
to inport my outmail to my windows mail, an error message has shown saying
that it can not inport outlook mail from MAPI.

Deleting Auto-complete email address in Microsoft Mail
Hi, I've already tried to highlight the gunged auto-complete email address
and deleting it. That works until you go to send another message. I tried to
disable auto-complete, restarted the computer, then re-enabled
auto-complete... the gunged email address was still there. I could really use
some help.

Adding an email account to my Windows Mail

I am trying to figure out why some attachments will open but others,
particularly .eml will not open and freeze Windows Mail. I have to end task

Message not found???
Messages in my inbox are disappearing! I can still see them listed, but when

Importing OE6 mail
I'm trying to import my email in folders from OE6 on an XP pc to Windows Mail
on a new Vista pc. I can navigate to the folder in XP storing the OE6 *.dbx
files, but WinMail does not seem to recognize these as importable. How can I
facilitate this process after three days of trying to find a solution?...

Annoying error each time I click on a link within an email
When clicking on a link within Vista mail 6.0, EACH time an error tells me
"Windows cannot find (URL). Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then
try again."
I have Firefox as default browser.

Bad Helpful Success Rate!!!
Came in here yesterday for help and the success rate of comments that were
helpful is not good at all. ( WOW ) Then I posted a comment for help and got
NO response back so far, this is not good, I can get better help from a

Every time I send and/or recieve mail, I get the message:
"The server you are connected to is using a security certificate that could
not be verified. The certificate's CN name does not match the passed

Want to delete a username in Windows Mail
I imported another user name that I had in OE into Windows Mail. Now when I
reply or forward a message, that username appears in the From line. However
when I create a new mail, my main user name appears which is what I want to
happen in all instances. I know I can change the user name from the drop
down in the From line, but that is inconvenient and I mostly forget to do
this, therefore...

New Message Delay
Everytime i try to send an email to someone via windows mail, there is a 10
to 15 second delay while the new message window opens. Does anyone have any

Background: I am trying to help a friend who has a Vista system that she's
been using for several weeks. She has been unable to transfer her old OE mail
to the new system. In the interim, she's been using Mail on her new Vista

Messages are downloaded several times
I have several mail accounts. But all point to a main e-mail address. Now
whenever I try to download messages from the server, each message is
downloaded four times - because there are four e-mail accounts I use. How can
I stop the multiple downloading of these messages?...
