Send and Receive only works first time I open Windows Mail
I have just set up a new email address and am using Windows Mail for the
first time. My email account is set up fine and works in webmail but when I
try to use it in Windows Mail it will send and receive my mail when I open it
for the first time, but after that if I click on send and receive nothing
happens - not even an error message. I know I am missing something really
obvious! Please...

Outlook express
where did it go? why did you change it??? it was fine... i no longer can
access my own personal e-mail because it does not recognise it. i am not
happy about it eighter. spend all this money on your windows vista for a new
computer that was built beyond the minumum spec required and my money has
gotten pritty much i feel waisted....

Windows Contacts birthday bug
Hello, everybody!
I've got a problem with Windows Contacts. After entering someone's
birthdate in their contact properties, the birthdate that ends up
being shown in the listed contacts (in the birthday column) is a day
early.
For example, I edit John Doe's contact info, putting in his birthday.
I start with the birth year - 1970. Then I put in the month - June.
Then I put in the day - ...

Deleting from Junk Mail Folder
Have been trying for days to delete 8 messages that are in my junk mail folder.
Any new messages delete fine but those 8 are stuck in place. Can you help?
I'm brand new to Windows Mail............

email downloading to deleted file
I also had emails stuck in my deleted folder. I followed one of the
instructions to delete the WindowsMail.MSMessageStore files after a search.
When I restarted Windows Mail it rebuilt the files, but now emails are
downloaded into the Deleted folder. I read more and downloaded and installed
Windows Live Mail, and it also downloaded new emails into the deleted file
instead of the Inbox...

Adding signatures
Hi,
A couple of questions about signatures...
1) Is there any way to specify that some accounts don't use any signature at
all...? I have three newsgroup accounts, but only want to use a signature
for one of them - I don't want the other two to use the 'Default'
signature...
2) Is there any setting which will put the signature underneath the text of
a a reply (rather than above it...

Windows Vista Mail Contacts: "To:" or "CC:" does not show all contacts
Hi,
I just switched to Windows Vista and transferred all my Contacts
(several 100) from Outlook Express to the Windows Contacts.
When I want to create a Mail, I click on "New Mail", then on "To:" or
"CC:". Strangely, the dialog that opens shows only parts of my
contacts and without folders.
Where do these contacts come from and how can I teach Vista Mail to
use my Windows contacts?

Managing Contacts List
I hope someone can help me please.
I cannot seem to organise my contacts into folders as I could in outlook
express. Let me explain:
If I had an email to send to four or five friends, the list would show 'main
identtity contacts' and I would scroll through to select the recipients.
If I sent a business email to business contacts, then I would select the

I have read quite a bit about people being unable to use a free yahoo account
for their windows mail. I just wanted to let you know that I am able to do
it so I thought I would let you know the settings to use.
Your pop is pop.mail.yahoo.com

Can't open link in Windows Mail
Hi, I can't open a link in windows mail, can anyone please help? I click on
the link and I get an error message with the http address in it and under
that it says application not found.
I have searched everywhere for answers but to no avail. Windows help says
open message, go to junk mail and unblock - but unblock is not highlighted
for me to unblock. I am stumped!

PLS HELP..... PICTURES ON EMAILS NOT APPEARING
Hi,the pictures on my email coming though do not appear. Not the
attachments but the pictures on the normal screen in where you would write

Cannot send or reply email w/ Windows Vista Home, Help!
I just got a new laptop and I cannot send or reply to any emails. The
computer will not even allow me to put the cursor in the section where you
write the email. I am no computer expert, can anyone give me any
suggestions? Also, I am not running Norton or MacAfee, but I am running
Trend and Spy Sweeper which they recommended.

Vista Operating System - Windows Mail cannot copy to itself
Windows XP never had this problem nor does it now.
Anyone smarter than me is welcome to find a solution to this issue and
let us all know?

je n'ai plus aucun message dans ma boite de réception... ils ont tous
disparus, mais quand je fais un clic droit sur boite de réception et sur
propriété ca me dit qu'il y a 192 message, dans ma barre bleu en haut j'ai
bien cliquer sur afficher tous les messages mais il y a rien, je m'envoie des
mail via hotmail et je vois bien que je recois des message car il est inscris

Nachrichtenregeln
Werte Newsgroup!
Habe wie bei der Vorgängerversion einige Nachrichtenregeln erstellt.
Automatisch funktioniert dies aber überhaupt nicht, nur wenn ich es manuell
mache (Unterordner einschließen) wird die Aufteilung vorgenommen.
Hat jemand eine Idee?

Windows Mail Thinks It's Outlook Express
With all the big deal about Outlook Express being gone, and Windows Mail
being its replacement in Vista, why does my Windows Mail say at the title

Error on sending, please help very frustrated
Dell took 5 hours trying to fix this and their fix was to get a new log on.
Basically new computer and won't let me send messages all the time. You push
send it says Message can't be sent error has occurred. I have had this
computer 3 days running, 1 day basically messing with an email program that
is not happy.

Wrong mail adress
Hello readers,
Every time when i type the first caracters for an mail adress, mail fills in
a (wrong) mail adress. I do not know what the english word is for this, but
the dutch words are "automatisch aanvullen" (automatic fill in?). Is there
a possibility to (partialy) delete this "automatic fill in" adresslist?

UNABLE TO RECEIVE INCOMING EMAIL
When I go into my email using Windows Mail and click on send/receive I
receive the following error message:
