Burn CD?
I need help. I can't burn a CD or DVD in Vista OR Media Player. In Media
Player it does not see the disk or it does but cannot format it (I have tried
3 different brands). In Vista it said it would take 1day & 16 hours to burn
a data file of 3.5 Gb on a 4.7GB disk (it crashed the computer after 5
hours). A day before I upgraded to Business Vista the same DVD burn using
RecordNow!ver7...

Restore error after clean install of Vista Ultimate (32bit)
I had to reinstall Vista Ultimate due to many issues.
I replaced my motherboard and processor along with a complete reformat of
the HDD.
After reinstalling I cannot "Restore" my backup made from Vista.
I have the image on my backup hard drive and I know the files are there (91GB)

Applications (Outlook 2007, iTunes, etc) Stopped working
I have been working on my vista installation for about 2 weeks.
I cannot get all the bugs out of it. My biggest issue right now is that some
applications just do not work. Outlook 2007 and iTunes for example stop
working during the initialization stages of the program. Quicken dies on me
when I enter a transaction. I tried downloading firefox, and it didn't run
either. Other programs work...

No "Vista" Themes found on my PC
Just installed Vista Ultimate last night. Took all the defaults. When I go to
"Personalization" > "Themes" > "Theme" I see only this in the dropdown
My Current themes
Windows Vista
Windows Classic
Browse...
"Browse" found nothing so I did a serach of drive C for "*.theme" and found
no hits. I'm sure MS provided some starter themes (?). Please help.

Delete Dual Boot
Comuter has 3 hard drives.
I installed XP on one and Vista on another with dual boot.
Vista worked well and ran all my programs.
I reformatd the driv with Vista and installed Vista on the XP drive as a
cleam install. But at boot the dual boot opion is still showing up. The 2
options are Vista and Vista.
I'd like to get rid of the dual boot.

BCDedit? help me find my xp install from withing Vista
I have a new Vista install on a RAID 5 drive C: while I also have a
previously installed version of XP on another hdd alongside a "dead,
deactivated" vista.
I would like to add my XP boot record to my RAID 5 bootup. Do I need to
transfer boot.ini and .. . from the XP partition?

No Desktop Themes in my Vista Ultimate
Just installed Vista (32-bit) last night on my PC. When I went to change the
Desktop Theme ("Personalize" > "Theme" > Theme) I found these themes:

Do you really need XP activated to upgrade?
I have Vista Home Premium which I've been testing out to see what machine I
want to put it on (XP is working fine on my several home machines and so
there's no rush...I just install on a spare drive and don't activate, giving

Installation Problem

Windows Vista - Unregistering Product Key
I am reverting back to Windows XP, because Vista does not support many thigns
I intend to use. Therefore I want to uninstall Windows Vista.
I was wondering, how do you unregister a product key (through command

Scanner help please

reinstalled vista...
my motherboard died not to long ago, so i had to reinstall vista (have home
premium upgrade)...
however when trying to activate vista it says my key is already in use and
can't use it...
i'm NOT going to pay 60 bucks to talk to support and have a likely chance of
them NOT solving the problem.

Can't get into safe mode in Vista
I have been trying to get into safe mode by pressing F8 at startup, but all I
get is "which order do you want to boot from? I choose my hard drive and then
hold the F8 key again and it just starts Vista in the normal mode.

problem printing in vista
i have installed vista ultimate and it works fine with the exception
of printing I have an hp 2015 laser and i got the latest driver from
the hp site, put vista prints 1 page about every 8 seconds on all my
graphics GIF, JEPEG etc.. at first ifigured it was hs drivers but i

Vista Ultimate problems
Clean install of Vista Ultimate. The system run for 4 days. Now, after it
boots it comes to the screen that I'm supposed to login and the only thing I
