clean install with upgrade product
Can anyone help me with this problem? I upgraded to Windows Vista Home
Premium last week. It worked fine for a little while, then my hard drive
failed. I called my Dell representative, and he said the problem was that my
Dell computer was using a RAID 1 array, which Vista didn't support yet. The
only way to restore my computer was to turn off the RAID array and do a clean

Vista Installation hangs
I am trying to install Vista Ultimiate (for 4 hours now). The computer boots
from the CD and says Windows is loading files, I see the status bar moving
and it finally completes. Then the screen goes black and I see another
smaller status bar and the words Mcrosoft Corporation (Text is dimly lit) and
then it hangs on this screen, no hardisk activity, no DVD Drive activity.

Desktop missing?
Long story short, my computer locked up when I was installing Norton internet
security 2007, so I did a hard reboot (pressed the power button). when my
computer came back on there was nothing, except my Documents folder. No start
menu, no task bar, no desktop, no icons, nothing... I can't even right click

REinstalling Vista on the same machine.
My install of Vista got corrupted and kept BSOD and shutting down.
So after desperately trying to repair the original install i gave up and
reinstalled from the disc supplied by the builder.
After trying to activate this install I am told that the product key is
already in use??
and my copy of windows will stop working after 29 days?
how do I get around this?...

Re-Installing Printer Drivers
I own;
HP Media Center m7760n Desktop Vista Home Premium
HP Officejet 7310 All-in-One
Printer worked fine for 4 months with this pc then it just disappeared a
week ago, did a search in Vista Community and saw that its best to delete

I install OEM PC's with XP SP2 and will be moving to install Vista in the
future.
At this time, I know very little about Vista - Please could someone tell me:
Does Vista come with SUPPORT\TOOLS on the installation CD?
Are these tools the same as XP SP2 - Specifically, does Vista come with
DEPLOY.CAB (setupmgr.exe et al)?

Install on a Promise TX133 Card - Problem
Whn a Maxtor 300GB dirive is plugged in and all the others removed tried to
install Clean Windows Vista Business.
Have the drivers downloaded from the Promise site (Windows Vista
compatible). Request for drivers pops up after Install Now (no drivers
listed to install) and I browse to diskette and load drivers. Windows Vistal
Install loads driver with no complaint.

After microsoft update everything is gone
I upgraded my Windows Xp computer to Windows Vista Business.
After the upgrade (That took 6 hours) everything seemed fine. My desktop and
documenst etc was there as usual.
So i ran Microsoft Update and restarted the computer (another 30 minutes to
restart)
After that i logged in as usual on my user account, but then the problems
started.

Word 2003 crach under Windows Vista
I'm using Word 2003 SP2 under Windows Vista (preinstalled on a new laptop)
and, most of the time, every time I try to open Word documents the
application crashed.
I tried opening such documents on a Windows XP system and the problem
doesn't arise.
Is there anyone who can help me to resolve the problem?

LOCKED OUT no vista or xp
i have tried vista twice before and when it restarts and sys finalising
installation, the screen goes on standby but the computer is still on so i
have to restart and it says the installation was unsuccessful. this time it

Remove NVIDIA Drivers
I recently replaced an older GeForce FX 5200 card with a GeForce 7600 GS. I
am using Windows Vista 32 bit Ultimate. In the control panel, there are two
icons. One for NVIDIA nView Desktop Manager and one for NVIDIA Control
Panel. I believe the NVIDIA nView Desktop Manger should be uninstalled.
There are no options in the uninstall a program to do this. There is only
NVIDIA Drivers....

Activation
Just recently I bought a new hard drive which I would like to use as my
primary hard drive. I installed vista on this hard drive and am using my old
hard drive as a slave drive. The problem is that my copy of vista has
already been activated on the old hard drive and I am now unable to activate

Vista with 2 languages
I have a laptop with Vista Business (English) and would like to be able to
switch to German sometimes. I understand that I need to get a German version,
which is fine for me, but I do not want to overwrite my english version.
Is it really not possible to install only the "language part" of Vista
Business?
I do not want to use Virtual PC as this takes up far too much space....

Not A Valid Win32 Application [WMDC Setup]
Hey Guys, having a few issues with Windows Vista and installing the Mobile

Vista64 Install Freeze
When I start to install Vista64 the install stops right at the start.
When I start booting off the Vista DVD and select Windows setup the

Moving Icon
I installed Roxio Easy Media Creator 9, but its Icon on most days on boot up
appears in the extreme right bottom corner and there it is inoperative and I
cannot drag it couple of inches to the left where it should be. Is there a

Does anybody know if Quickbooks will run on Vista?
I work with a non-profit organization that wants to update their computers.
The current computer that is running Windows XP also uses the Non Profit

Dual boot with preinstalled Vista
My computer has Vista on it and I want to install XP. I will use XP more and
so i'd like to boot with it at startup. I read that you have to have an

Default packages and dlls
Hello,
I find that most of the system dlls are missing by default and are
available only after installing (turning on) some windows features. For
example "ntmsapi.dll" wont be available in system32 by default. This will be
installed once "Removable Storage Manager" is turned on. Earlier, in Windows

Windows Easy Transfer says migration failed
