Possible to use MSDN Ultimate to upgrade Home Premium?
Hi all, I was searching around but wasn't able to find an answer to this
question but hopefully it should be a quick yes/no from someone knowledgeable.
I'm getting a new laptop which will have some flavor of windows vista on it.
As it turns out we have 5 nice Ultimate licenses unused from our msdn
subscription; do I need a special 'upgrade' version or can I use those discs
/ etc and upg...

Still having problems with path errors. For instance when I try to access

Weird graphics after fresh install
I just installed Vista Ultimate on a Compaq Presario. It never asked me
about any compatibility issues, just started installing. Everything seemed
to work properly until after it ran its initial 'Performance' check. After
the restart, all it does is have what appears to be ASCII characters flashing
different colors. I have to shut the computer down. When I start it back
up, I get

Probably already up here but who has 2 days to read all of the posts...
I upgraded my old workstation from 2000 to Vista Ultimate when my old HDD

I decided to skip XP altogether. Since the Win2K install was not compatible
with Vista, I was forced to do a "clean" install, there was no other option
available to me. Sounded good to me in the beginning, and everything went

Upgrade XP to Ultimate fails in Expanding Files
I just tried to upgrade an XP installation to Ultimate and encountered an
error in the Expanding Files phase. (Also when it went into rollback mode,
that also failed and I ended up deleting the installer's temp files and
fixing the MBR by hand).
My system is an ASUS A8V mobo with AMD dual core CPU and VIA SATA RAID. I
suspect the problem could be linked to the RAID: I am running Setup f...

other BIOS settings are not lost during off periods. The only difference I

I've just bought a new computer and rather than getting a monitor etc I've
hooked it up to my existing Wharfedale LCD tv.
I have no external speakers, only the speakers built into my tv but I'm
struggling to find a way of hearing the sound from my pc. To avoid adding
extra clutter I would prefer not to buy external speakers as the speakers on
my tv are more than adequate.

Vista boot manager removal from Win98 disk

Unfortunately it wrote the boot manager to my 1st drive so now I can only

so I can select which OS to boot using the BIOS. That way if I remove either
drive from the system I can still have a bootable system.
Is there a simple and safe way...
