Vista Ultimate Upgrade Error
Why does my system not upgrade to Ultimate from Premium even though the
upgrade advisor says Ultimate is the version to use? I have a DVD that I'm
using to install and it keeps stopping on an installation error. I have all
the upgrades and disabled security such as firewwall and One Care. Why won't
it upgrade? It worked on my laptop (although I went from XP to Ultimate, not

Acer question
Hi all
I have a Acer TM6410 and it didn't come with the os disc (XP Pro).
Instead, you have to make a "factory default disc" using the "eRocvery
Management"I'm gonna instal vista business on my system and if i'm not
satisfied i will go back to xp.
My question is: wil i be able to boot from this disc to install the Xp?
If so will it give the options to format del partition etc etc?

Uninstall Speech Recognition
I would like to uninstall speech recognition but can not find it in

Vista IP Address Issues after Sysprep
Hello,
I setup a system, connected it to the network to get Vista Patches, then I
ran sysprep. I used imagex to send the image to a server and I have now
installed the image on a different computer. I sucessfully added an IP
address to the new computer, but when I run ipconfig/all it lists the setup
IP address and the correct IP address in IPv4 and lists both as (Preferred).

dual booting vista & xp
hi all, just installed vista home premium onto a new 160gig sata and running
windows xp pro on a 200gig ide hard drive but got no boot menu when i switch
on :-( is there a way to get the menu back like i had when i used to use win
98se & xp or does it not work like because i've got windows vista on a sata
drive & win xp on a ide drive thx

Cannot find drivers
I received my computer today and while installing windows vista, it forces me
to do a clean install, which makes sense because it is a new computer...makes
sense. But then when it asks me what driver I want to install to, it can't
seem to find any. I tried nearly every disc that came with the computer, but
I can't figure it out.
Could someone help, please!

How to customize COMPUTERNAME on vista image ?
My goal is is create a Vista image and deploy it to ~1000 computers.
each computer is located in different site.
I would like that a machine that deployed in Amsterdam Site will have
a computername with the Prefix of that location: for example: AMS-
USERNAME-##

Autoroute 2000
I know it's old but it used to work well with XP but I can't get it to work

Problem with vista installation, in the start.
Hello, i have bought Vista home premium on dvd.
When i try to install vista the first time on a new hdd, I get a screen with
a few options. I can choose to see some tools and i and start install vista.
When i Choose to start the installation, It says "Windows is loading

running it on my laptop, but I recently sold it (put back Windows XP) that

I received a new computer with Vista Home Premium installed in French. I
haven't yet activated it. I will obtain the English version of Vista Home

Reactivating Vista
Hi, I was running a RAID 0 array on my pc, where vista was installed for 6
months or so. One of the drives failed, but before I reinstalled vista I used
XP for two days or so to try and revive the failed hard drive that was part
of my array, I also updated the motherboards bios.

Scanner does not work
I installed Vista on 5/2. i have an Epson CX6400 all in one.
Up until 10 days ago my scanner was working properly. Now it will not scan.
I am told that I do not have "Microsoft WPD filesystems volume driver".
I tried to update this and I am told that my driver is up to date. ??? No

Can't set up new user
There are 2 users on my system, me and my wife.
When wife tries to switch to her user it goes through the motions and ends
up just showing a blue screen,with the cursor arrow. The cursor moves but has
no function at all.
When I tried to add a new user it went through all that it has to and tole
me it was going to set up the desk top. Screen turned blue and the rest is
stated above.

display settings
I just upgraded from windows xp to windows vista home premium. when i did so
my display will not fill out the entire screen and i see no option to make it
larger. does anybody know how i can fix this? its not very fun to have a

Problems w/partitions on Dell Image

My brand new Dell Dimension E520 came with Vista Home Premium pre-installed
on the 250GB hard drive. The drive was set up as a single partition. This
does not suit my needs, so I attempted to use the built-in Disk Manager

Have a new HP Pavillion w/ Vista Ultimate. Would like to update my website
with my old well known program MS FrontPage98 w/ Upgrade FrontPage2000. I
tried using the compatibility mode under the control panel with no success. I
get a "FrontPg\enu\setup.exe error number 5" every time I try an install. Is

Laptop shuts down by itself and reboots...
I just bought a new laptop with Vista Home premium preloaded. For some
reason I had to use the recovery disk to restore the system. During this
restore operation the laptop installed all the software while going thorugh

ReadyBoost configuration Question
Why do we have to manually set readyboost in a flash drive after rebooting
our system...?? I'm mean this is very uncomfortable!!
If ReadyBoost was activated and I set a flash drive to be used to improve
System performance AND the flash drive hasn't been removed from the PC why do
I have to re-set it next time Windows Boots up?? Isn't this a little
annoying?
