switching account freeze up
This seems to be happenening too much for my liking.Whenever I switch
accounts,either by logging off or just switching user account, the computer
loads fine until i access a programme, then everything freezes. The task
manager will let me shut it down ok but gives a message "the programme is
waiting for an action from you" (or something to that effect) apart from the
task manager no othe...

How to Add clipart file to office 2007 manually
I hav downloaded clipart and sound files from microsoft office website
.......... But when i try to include them to office it doesnt read the file

Graphical Problems
Hi,
I have a Problem with some Applications under Vista, including the Sound

Error message when trying to burn restore DVD
I got a new PC with preinstalled Vista Ultimate (32-bit). I'm trying to
backup my system to a DVD but get various error messages.
1st message ==> "Windows has detected file system corruption on C: You must
check the disk for errors before it can be restored."
When I try to check the disk, I get another message ==> "Windows can't check

Home Premium doesn't resume from hibernate sometimes
I have had Vista Home Premium not recover from hibernate several times over
the last few months. The computer will play 3-4 beeps in succession and
then the monitor will never come back up and CPU light stays on. It is like
the computer gets stuck in a loop.
I reboot the PC and then it shows the "Resuming Windows" screen and then it
also gets in a loop again and does not boot. I rebo...

stop over complicating things
OK, I'm an old fart and I've used Windows since 1983 (v1 beta). I've always
been a Windows fan, until now. While there are some things I like about
VISTA there are a ton that I just cannot stand. For example:
1. Outlook (now Windows mail) no longer supports multiple user accounts. I
need to be able to see 5 different email accounts - 2 for work, my personal

Screen Saver on Vista Windows Freezes
My screen saver Aquarium comes on after 10 mins until my system powers down.
There are times that when I return to my computer to use it, the screen
saver is frozen on the screen and I have to turn the computer off and back
on.
What causes this?

CD/DVD drive missing but not.....
Greetings!
My Dell PC came preloaded with Vista Ulitmate. Everything was fine until
about a month ago the CD/DVD drive disappeared from "My Computer". Its shows
in Device Manager and says it is functioning fine. I did however, delete the
drive and reboot so Windows would redetect it. All seems to go as it should
but still no CD/DVD drive in "My Computer".

System Resumed from Sleep and wrong time
OS: Vista 32-bit Home Premium
Hey guys. Has anyone noticed that the message under event viewer "The
system has resumed from sleep." under Windows Logs / System incorrectly shows
the time as GMT instead of GMT-7 for my particular time zone? Of course the
date and time are correct under the "Logged:" field. I guess this is a minor
Vista bug. Anyone else seeing the same thing?

Putting XP on a new partition
I just bought a new gateway computer. It has vista home premium on it. Vista
keeps freezing up for long periods. Is there a way to put XP on a new
partition? I tried to remove vista with the XP disk but it won't let me....

small black line on screen after install
I just installed Vista on a 4-month old HP pavillion. A small black line
appears on my screen in all programs and I can't figure out how to get rid of
it. When I booted up today, it moved from the left side of the screen to the
right side.

MFT fragmentation
Diskeeper reports that my MFT is 98% used and fragmented.
It suggests I let it increase the size of the table.

MSN as default mail
Hello
After pulling out a lot of hair, I finally got the MSN browser installed on
my new laptop pre-loaded with Vista Home Premium, Basically, I wanted the
browser to use its email client. I like it, it's easy, and, like others, I
want to keep my MSN address.

blue screen whe msn dial up is used
I'm having a problem with Vista home premium and MSN dial up. For some strage
reason when I try to log onto the internet using msn dial-up the box that
would normally be the sigh in box is a light shade of blue with the letters
MSN on the upper left hand corner. If anyone know how to fix this please give

Is Vista Hungry: Installed Applications Disappearing
Hi,
Bizare question...is anyone else experiencing disappaering applications in
Vista? I am currently "missing" two applications I KNOW I installed on my
new Vista Business Sony laptop: iOmega's Auto Backup 1.02 and Xara's Webstyle
4. Others have also disappeared but I was able to convince myself I just
never installed them yet.
Does Vista auto-uninstall when I'm not looking?

Problem with playing videos
I have a Dell inspiron 6400 laptop with vista ultimate installed and when
ever I play a movie windows turns off the screen after 20 minutes (that's the
time I told windows to turn the screen off when idle). In the power
management I chose to prevent idle sleep while sharing media but windows
still turns off the screen. Is there any way to prevent this while I watch
videos?...

monitor dial-up traffic and speed
Hello,
Can anyone help me ,
How do I monitor my dial-up connection traffic & speed. There used to be a
'status' option in XP. I have tried vistas 'reliability & performance' tool,
but it seems to monitor LAN rather than dial-up modem traffic ??

Detail pane does not display album art
I have a problem where the detail pane in Vista explorer does not always
display the album art next to the item and displays the MP3 picture. It
strange because if I go into an album folder some of the items will have the
correct pictures and others won't. All of the art is in Media Player.
Any ideas?

Question round dual core
I have a Sony Vaio laptop with the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor (T5600). The
spec tells me this is a 64bit dual CPU processor. When I look in task
manager - performance - I only see 1 CPU [i have selected one graph per
CPU] - is there anything I need to do to enable the dual core?

lost hard disc memorary after upgrading to Vista home basic
Earlyer this year I upgraded from Windows XP SP2 to Windows Vista Home Basic.
Before i inserted the upgrade disc I had 110GB free disc space left from a
